Double Fanfiction Writing
We all headed to double FW. I chose a seat in the back between Fiona and Janet. Antonio and Xavier sat in the front near Jeveskia. Brandon sat on Fiona's other side.
Suddenly, the lights were turned off. The window blinds were semi-open, so it wasn't really dark.
"Hi, everyone," said Mrs. Golde. "I'm Mrs. Golde, but let's skip the introductions. You're all in this class because you're apparently really good writers. We're going to see about that. For now, I want you to pull out your laptops. If you haven't gotten yours, please go get it now."
Janet Lee, Antonio Rivera, and Xavier Lynx got up along with almost half the class to grab their laptops from the Digital Design classroom. Meanwhile, the rest of us pulled out or laptops. I turned off the Wi-Fi and played the Dino game until the rest of the class came back.
"Here's what we're going to do," said Mrs. Golde. "I want you to open a new document, and I'm going to give you a character and topic, and I want one paragraph on it. Just one. When you've opened a new document, give me a thumbs-up."
I opened the new document and held my thumb-up high. When everyone had, she said, "Okay, hands down. If you're a boy, I want you to write a paragraph about how Percy Jackson might feel when he kisses Annabeth. If you're a girl, write one about how Annabeth Chase feels when she kisses Percy. Just describe how happy they might be. I know most of you might have never kissed anyone before. Just say they felt happy, or talk about how much they love the other. 3, 2, 1, write!"
I thought for a minute, then started typing. The words seemed to come to me as my fingers moved over the keyboard.
I love it when Percy kisses me. It gives me this feeling that maybe life isn't horrible after all. I love him so much, more than anything. The sky could fall on our heads and he wouldn't care as long as I was with him. I love him for that. I love him for always being there for me and never letting me go, always putting me first. I know people who'd do or give anything to have someone love them like that.
I sure would, I thought as I wrote that last word. I got up to show my laptop to Mrs. Golde and she wrote my name down. Fiona and Jeveskia showed me their paragraphs, and theirs were pretty good. After a while, Mrs. Golde got up again and walked to the front of the class.
"Would anyone like to share?" She asked. She looked around at the hands raised in the air, mine included.
She looked at a blond, blue-eyed boy in the front. "What's your name, honey?"
"Lucas," said the boy.
"Lucas," she repeated, "stand up and read your paragraph aloud, sweetie."
Lucas stood up and picked up his laptop.
When I'm with Annabeth, everything feels better. When I see her, my eyes are mesmerized by her beauty. When I hear her talk, my brain can focus on almost nothing else. I don't care what she's saying, I just want to hear her voice. When she smiles, it's out of my control, I have to as well. When she's sad, I cry. When I kiss her... no words can explain how I feel, just as no words can explain how much I love her.
The class was silent for a moment at the poeticness... and the cleverness. Then it erupted in applause.
Lucas sat back down, brushing his hair out of his eyes.
Mrs. Golde picked a few other people to read, Fiona included, then sat back down. For the rest of class, we discussed ways to make any form of writing better.
I was disappointed when the bell rang. It had been a good class.
I caught up with the kids at my lunch table after class. We exchanged numbers, and I created another group chat named 'Lunch Table' because I didn't know what to name it. We had recess now, and in recess we were allowed to roam all over the school, and we could use our phones and laptops. Now that was a school.
We hung out at the field, when suddenly Delphine said, "So who's in the Advanced class?"
We started counting off the names we'd learned, and when I said Lucas, Delphine giggled.
"What?" I asked.
"Is that the blond kid who's hair is in his eyes? I heard someone calling him that earlier," Delphine said.
"Yeah, that's him," said Xavier in a disgusted tone. "Lucas Crystalos. I'm pretty sure he was forced to read those books, there's just no way a guy like him would do that of his own free will."
"Well, you don't get into this school unless you actually like those books," Fiona said.
"Are you defending him?" Brandon questioned.
Fiona turned pink. "No! Just saying."
"I think he's annoying," said Antonio. "Why's his hair so long? It's getting on my nerves."
"We can't all have a buzz cut, Antonio," Janet joked.
"I think he's alright," I said, because Brandon was looking at Fiona weird and Antonio was glaring at Janet. "I mean, we've barely even met him. You can't judge someone by their hair."
Delphine gave me a funny look, while Fiona just looked relieved.
"Anyway," I said, in an attempt to change the subject, "how were the other classes?"
"Fine," Giovanni said. He'd been quiet during the entire debate about Lucas.
We talked about other things until the bell rang. Antonio was still pretty annoyed at Janet for bringing up his buzz cut, and Fiona avoided Brandon's eyes the whole time. I can say they were pretty relieved when the bell rang.
********
Now, here's what you wanna know when you're reading a book by me that isn't an X reader. The lover's name is always Lucas.
