Clearing things up

Well, this was just wonderful. The person you were trying to help had almost killed you, your new cooking knife had been thrown across the room, your throat had a medium sized cut, and you may have been the cause of your idol getting hurt.

And he was still laying in the middle of the staircase.

For some reason, you just couldn't muster up the courage to pick him up and put him back in his room. It was hard to stand next to him, let alone touch him!

In the time that you had tried to find a way to transport him without coming into physical contact, you cleaned up all the blood in the house, fixed the knife, bandaged your neck and put away all the cleaning equipment. You now found yourself standing over the skeleton, closing your eyes as you concentrated, deep in thought.

You could get the old wagon you had from second grade and wheel him around in that, but you'd still need to touch him. You could scoop him up in the your deflated giant hamster ball, blow it up and then roll him to the room, but he probably wouldn't like waking up to be trapped in such an enclosed area. You could wake him up and ask him to wal- aaaaand nevermind, that's way too problematic.

So what do you do?

Opening your eyes, you frowned and looked down, accidentally catching sight of the destroyer below you.

Feeling your face heat up, you felt that he looked rather adorable in your clothes, looking perfect on him. His face was buried in the shirt, making him look like a peaceful child that took a midmorning nap. Even though he is anything but peaceful.

Sitting on the floor beside him, you sighed, heat rising to your cheeks. You quietly took out your phone and took a picture of the skeleton, fangirling silently and you hid your face in the sleeves of your jacket.

Slipping the phone back into your pants pocket, you returned your focus back to the original question.

How would you get him into the room?

After thinking for three minutes straight, you gave up, pulling your phone back out once you had wasted too many brain cells. After unlocking your device, you opened Google, surely it would have some ideas!

Looking up "how to move someone without touching them," Google gave you a lot of useless information about the force and telekinesis. Gee, that really was helpful. You definitely had telekinesis.

Covering your face in your hands, you let out a loud noise of displeasure. How in the world were you supposed to do this without touching him?! You don't have magical powers like him, and certainly didn't know the force! You felt that you absolutely should NOT touch him without his permission.

Despite knowing you shouldn't touch him, you couldn't help but want to do so as well. You recalled the way your heart had fluttered and the electricity that seemed to flow through your veins when the destroyer had unintentionally placed his hand on yours.

Never before had your heart beaten so quickly, and never before had your face heaten up that much. That small action had left you feeling like the luckiest person on Earth, and deep down, you craved that feeling. But this was much much more than another little touch. This was CARRYING him!

The mere thought of holding the skeleton in your very arms caused your head to spin. There was no way you'd be able to do this without having another one of your little, ahem, "accidents."

That was the biggest problem. Probably one of the weirdest problems, but it was still a problem.

"Hrrnnnnnghh... I'm gonna need something to catch the blood..." You muttered to yourself, finally pulling your face from your hands. You slowly stood up and looked for something that would fit the description of the item you were looking for.

"Okay, I need something to fit on my nose and mouth that'll catch le blood.." You spoke to yourself. Speaking outloud had always seemed to connect the dots in your mind.

Racing around your house, you checked every room, the kitchen, the bathroom, your bedroom, the spare bedrooms, the mini theater, the attic, the garage, the art studio, a few secret rooms and even the library, but to no avail. After rushing around that monster of a house, you were bone tired, wanting nothing more than to collapse into the confort of your bed and call it a day. But you knew you couldn't do that, you had to take care of Error first.

Walking back through the hallway with an empty mind, you ran your hand along the walls, leaning against them. What were you going to do now? You can't carry the skeleton, you'd bleed on him, and that wasn't an option. How would you carry him to his roo-

Not paying attention to the open bathroom door, you fell into the room rather quickly, desperately trying to grab onto any nearby surface to slow your fall. Fortunately, you grabbed the bathroom's closet door, ending your fall with your head not centimeters from the ground.

Sighing in relief, you relaxed, laying on the floor as the closet door opened entirely. A small, light, object slowly drifted off one of the closet's shelves and onto your face, drawing a small noise of confusion from your mouth.

Tilting your head, you grabbed the item lightly, holding it above your face to see it better. Your eyes brightened as you got to your feet, smiling as you felt lucky. The object that rested on your hand was the answer.

"A facemask." You spoke, voicing the object's name.

Grinning, you put the mask on, quick to hurry back over to the glitchy skeleton who was still laying in a crippled position on the staircase.

* * *

Once you had returned to Error's side, you took a few deep breaths and checked the facemask again. Making sure it was tightly secured for the thousandth time this night, you turned returned your gaze to the destroyer.

He had shifted in his sleep so as to be more comfortable, curling into the fetal position. Taking this opportunity to procrastinate further, you began taking several pictures of the skeleton, sighing in contentment.

After around the thirty-fourth picture or so, you tossed your phone on your couch, preparing yourself for what was about to come.

Placing your hands face up on the ground, you sharply inhaled before quickly slipping your hands under Error's upper back and legs, carrying him bridal style.

As you began to run to the guest room, you couldn't help but notice three things. One, he was surprisingly light, even for a skeleton. Two, your heart felt like it was going to explode and your face felt like an oven. Three, the facemask was already filling up with blood.

As you came upon the end of the hall, you kicked open the door before rushing over to the bed. Placing the skeleton gently on the soft surface of the mattress, you sighed, before promptly walking to the bathroom.

After cleaning your face with water, you disposed of the facemask, noting just how useful it was. Huh. Maybe you should carry more with you.

Just in case, you took some more facemasks from the closet, stuffing them into your pocket for later use. Once you believed you had enough, you exited the bathroom, shutting the door behind you.

You were about to walk upstairs to your room and finally call it a night when you noticed the door to the guest room was still open.

You were going to completely disregard the fact until you realized the destroyer may attempt another escape if he wakes up in the middle of the night.

Tilting your head, you though about locking the door from the outside, but that would only cause problems and arise suspicion the next day.

Well, that surely was a predicament.  What were you going to d- oh. The answer was obvious, just stay in the room with him for the night! That solution was simple enough, there were no sharp objects-

Oh dear, nevermind, maybe you should clean up the dagger-like shards of plastic that was once your trashcan before doing anything else.

Picking up the shards, you glanced at the door, revealing the long hallway to your kitchen, where your other trashcan stayed. With a groan, you walked back outside, disposing of the trashcan's remains before grabbing a comfortable chair and a blanket and reentering the guest room.

Shutting the door behind you, you flicked off the light, placing the chair in the corner near the door before gently draping the blanket over the sleeping skeleton. Sitting back in the chair, you closed your eyes as the faint rays of moonlight coming through your locked window sent a sense of serenity over your body.  Contented, you fell asleep.

Error woke up hours later in a panic, his heart pounding rapidly as he hyperventilated. He had a rather disturbing nightmare, his imagination deciding to be extra cruel that day. He dreamt he had been woken up to the cold feeling of being strapped to a metal examination table as multiple scientists picked him apart alive.

It had taken place in a white room with a metal door, bright lights blinding him. The weirdest part was when he caught sight of a small maid in the corner of the room, whom was begging the scientists to let him go and to cease their torment.

Blinking rapidly as his eyelights adjusted to the lighting, Error was extremely cautious, not wanting anyone near him. He hesitantly looked down at himself, expecting to see his organs splayed out. What he actually saw was the comfortable shirt he had worn the night before and the bandages underneath.

Sighing in relief, the skeleton rubbed his eyes, before feeling a throbbing pain at the back of his head. He hissed, clenching the back of his skull with both hands, the pain increasing the more his body felt awake.

Hearing a quiet gasp, Error turned to face the door, eyelights meeting a small female figure who stood in front of a chair that blocked the exit, face red with blush.

The skeleton jolted, not expecting to see anyone else in the room, and it didn't help that he was in pain.

"Oh my gosh! Are you okay? I mean o-obviously not, you're in pain, what am I saying?" The female muttered, looking flustered as she put on a facemask.

"Hold on, let me go get something." You spoke, moving your chair away from the door.

Realizing that you might call the guards, Error thought quickly, trying to come up with an idea to stall you.

"wAiT!!" He called, gaining your attention. You turned to look at him, facing away from the door.

Alright, he had your attention. Now what?

Error's mind drew a blank, he hadn't expected calling you to have actually worked. He knew he needed to dream something up quickly, otherwise he might lose your attention and allow you to alert others that he was awake.

"uMm, uH.. sNeAk aTtaCk!" Error yelled, throwing the blanket at you. It landed on your head and face, obstructing your view.

Seeing this as an opportunity to escape, Error bolted out of the room as fast as he could, leaving you in the dust.

Or at least that's what he wanted to do.

In actuality, he collapsed the moment he took his first step, falling face-first on the floor as he leg produced a sickening snap.

Error tried his best not to scream, but wasn't really succeeding. Instead, it came out as a muffled wail, the corners of his eyesockets filling with tears. Nevertheless, he continued his attempt at an escape, crawling towards the door.

By now, you had thrown the blanket back on the bed, just in time to watch the horrifying events take place. Your eyes widened as you immediately ran out of the room, so fast that your didn't hear Error's protests to stay.

Giving up on calling your name, the glitchy skeleton crawled to the door, writhing in pain. Using the door to help him up, Error gasped as he stood up, desperate to make it out of the building.

Taking a step forward and literally walking with both legs broken, Error groaned, still attempting to leave.

You immediately ran back to the skeleton's side, holding a cup of water with some small pills inside, a syringe, and a bottle an unknown liquid.

Error's eyesockets widened on the sight, not knowing what to expect.

"DoN't yOu dArE rUn teSts oN mE, yoU mOnSteR!" He cried, trying to push you away.

You dropped the syringe and bottle almost immediately after him asking you to, giving him the cup of water.

"Okay, I put it down, n-now drink that! I promise it's not p-poisoned!" You said frantically, pointing at the cup.

The skeleton downed the water and pills, no questions asked. After he had taken the medicine, you told him to sit down, an order to which he happily complied.

Once he was seated, the glitched skeleton had taken to calming his breathing, until you picked up the syringe. When he saw you raise the needle, he freaked out, balling his hands to fists in preparation to fight.

"I sAiD, dOn't rUn aNY teSts oN mE!" He growled, looking like he would murder someone any second.

"T-this isn't a test, I promise, it's a painkiller and I know exactly what it does, o-okay? P-please, just let me give it to you, it'll help!" You plead, using the syringe to absorb the fluid in the bottle.

Hesitantly, Error nodded, returning his hands to his sides. After all, you'd be right in front of him, so even if it was a test he could easily kill you.

You quickly administered the painkiller, the experience being over just as quickly as it had started. The destroyer felt the pain quickly ease, much to his surprise.

"Hold on, let me get some materials, I'll be right back." You said, running to your closet and pushing countless items out of the way, wasting no time to find medical tape, four wooden planks, and a bar of chocolate.

Running back to the skeleton, you sat in front of him, going to work making a splint. The bandages that were still on his legs were in good condition, so you didn't get anything extra as padding. After laying a wooden plank on the inside and outside of his right leg, you bandaged said materials to him in a makeshift splint. Once you had repeated the process on his left leg, you sighed, finally beginning to relax.

Leaning against the hallway's wall directly across from Error, you looked at him with pity, wanting to take away all his pain even if it meant enduring it for him. Said skeleton was currently  looking directly back at you, trying to look angry. Despite his pretending, you could see that he was relieved.

"Why'd you try to run away?"

"I cOuLdn'T lEt yOu cAlL tHe gUaRDs aNd TelL tHeM i'M aWAke." Error hissed, glaring.

Your face scrunched up with confusion. Guards? What did he mean 'Guards'?

"Um, I'm sorry, what?" You questioned, confused and shocked.

"YeAh, I kNoW aLl aBoUt yOur lItTle fAciliTy, tHat cOnfUsEd aCt dOesN't fOoL mE fOr a MinUtE." He sneered, thinking he had figured everything out. He didn't care that he was revealing important information to you because he could always murder you, even with two broken legs.

"Wha-"

"I kNoW tHat yOu oNlY kEpT mE hErE tO tEsT mE, aNd tHat yOu gAve mE cHocOlaTe tO pUt mE thRougH meNtAl tOrtuRe, anD I kNow tHat yOuR gUarDs aRe mUrdEreRs."

"What are yo-"

"I eVen kNow ThaT yOu KiLlEd sOmeOne iN thE bAtHrOoM aNd nEaR tHe kItCheN, I sAw aLl tHe bLoOd yOu wErE cLeAninG. BuT i wOn't eNd uP liKe tHem, nO, i'M bUsTinG oUt oF hErE, iNjuRed oR nOt. YoU cAn't sToP mE, mAid, aNd yOu'rE wRoNg iF yOu tHinK yOu cAn."

The gears in your mind finally seemed to click, as you realized what he had thought this whole time. He thought the blood was from dead bodies, he thought your house was some research facility, he thought the chocolate was used to try make him go crazy, and he thought you were a maid!

You stared at him for a second before laughing loudly, your body shaking from too much laughter. Error looked at you like you were crazy, even though you might've already been insane before he came.

When you finally calmed down, you shook your head, meeting the gaze of the confused destroyer.

"This place is my house, and I'm not a maid, I'm the person who lives here!" You giggled, still calming down from your fit of laughter.

Error seemed to stare blankly at you, before processing what you just said. As soon as he realized that your house was a house, he immediately started screaming, scooting backwards until he slammed against the wall and hit his head yet again.

"ArGh, mOtHer f- mY hEAd!!" He yelled, holding his skull with btoh hands and he wiggled like a worm on the floor.

You stiffed a laugh, imagining a giant worm with the head of the skeleton who was now flopping like a dying fish, before shaking your head and dismissing the thought.

"What's so bad about this being a house? And why'd you freak out and jump into the wall?" You asked, smiling under your mask.

"YoU'rE a mUrDerEr!! ThE bLoOd!! ThErE wAs bLoOd!! iT wAs YooOoOoOoOUUUuuU!!" He yelled, point a finger at you as he continued flopping.

You sighed, not yet knowing how to answer that. How would you explain the blood? Say you had an accident? Well, sounded like a good enough excuse.

"T-the blood was mine, it just, uh, spilled o-out, so to speak." You spoke, trying to explain without giving away too much detail.

"WhA- iT sPilLed oUt?! i'M alMoSt CeRtaIn huMan bLOoD dOeSn't jUsT sPilL oUt!! iT eIthEr wAsn't yOurS oR yOu'rE nOt hUmaN!! WhAt aRe YoU?!" He asked, finally standing up.

"I-"

"WaIt. WhErE wAs tHe bOdY?" He asked slowly, looking you directly in the eyes.

"What? There was no body because I never killed a-anyone! Besides, what would I do with the b-body, eat it?" You joked, trying to lighten the mood.

Error gasped, hands over his mouth as he looked at you with fear and horror.

"YoU'rE a dEmOn! YoU aTe tHe bOdy, yOu'rE a dEmOn!!"

Great. Right as you were beginning to think he understood. Welp, that's wonderful.

Sighing an enlongasted sigh, you huffed, feeling like giving up. You knew you couldn't do that, but you wanted to. REALLY wanted to. But no, you had to explain humanity to him, he was new here after all. You would be his guide, his teacher, his helper, and giving up was not a good trait for any of those occupations.

With renewed energy from the thought of helping the skeleton, you smiled, looking over at him.

"Okay, calm down, I'm not a demon. To clear things up, I'm a human, and that blood was mine. I had a little... accident, that's why I was cleaning up the blood. I'm not the maid of the house, I'm the owner. And as you already know, my name is y/n!" You exlaimed happily, smiling under your facemask.

This seemed to calm Error down, who slowly eased back into a comfortable position.  He nodded and sighed, eyesockets drooping. He was obviously tired, as to be expected. The stress and shock of breaking one's bones drains you of your energy, you knew that from personal experience.

Taking a small step towards the skeleton and waving your hand in front of his face, you spoke softly.

"Hey, you look tired. Do you want to sleep in the bed?" You asked gently, so as not to disturb more than you already had.

Error hesitated before nodding slowly, trying to get to his feet. The splints prevented him from doing so, causing the glitchy skeleton to mutter under his breath as his face grew slightly blue with embarrassment.

Picking up the chair you had slept in, you held it up for him, motioning for him to sit on it. Once he sat on the chair, you picked the entire thing up and walked to the bed, gently dumping him on the mattress.

Sticking a few pillows under his legs to keep them elevated, you gave him a thumbs up, which to which he returned a nod before closing his eyesockets.

You blushed and turned away, leaving the chair by the bed as you began towards the door. As you opened the door and were about to exit, you heard shuffling on the bed and looked back.

"HeY.."

"Yes? Do you need something?"

"nO, nOt reAllY. BuT yOu sAid sOmeThIng eArliEr aBoUt.. nAmeS?"

"Um, what do you mean in specific?"

"WhAt wAs yOuR nAmE aGaIN?

"Yes, that's my name! Why do you ask?"

" nO rEaSon, I jUsT wAntEd tO mAke sUrE i rEmMBereD iT. mY nAmE's eRrOr."

"That's a really cool name! I love it!"

". . . I-i tHiNk yOuR nAmE's pReTtY cOoL tOo. . ."

"AnYwAyS, tHat'S aLl.  .  ."

"O-o-okay. G-goodnight, E-error!"

"niGhT."
