I have some questions for Thanos...
Spoilers, beware!
After watching Infinity War, I had some questions for Thanos, more specifically, about the technicalities of the snap.
First of all, are you eligible to be one of the people that die? If the system is supposedly "fair" and "doesn't discriminate" as you suggested in the film, that means you are eligible as well.
Second of all, are any planets that you previously murdered half of the population impacted by the snap? If so, how is that fair? Now they have a quarter of their population. Definitely not what he promised.
Thirdly, does half of the population disappear, or half of each planet or species? The film implies its half of the universe, so theoretically entire planets could go by mostly unaffected, or whole species could be wiped out. Again, where is the fairness?
How are pregnant women affected? Is it possible for the mother to die, and not the baby? The baby obviously cannot survive afterwards, but does that count as part of the half? If you can't make one disappear without the other, then does that mean all pregnant women are either destined to die with their child, or are all pregnant women safe? Again, this system is described as not being discriminatory, but how would that not be?
If you were clinically dead when the snap happened, but you were resuscitated after the snap, does that mean you are immune from the snap, and you won't disappear?
When, exactly, is a baby classified as "alive"? Depending on your religion, this varies, but I don't think Thanos is religious given the circumstances. So again, this begs the question, who is eligible to be killed by the snap? How old do you have to be?
And, what classifies as alive? Heartbeat? This one gets a little morbid, I'm not going to go into details. You get the idea.
Finally, why didn't you just double the resources?
That's all I have for the moment. I hope you guys at least found this interesting.
