Confess my love to you in a Bed of Tulips - Daryl/Jesus

Daryl sat back watching everyone as he usually did, hiding from Negan wasn't ideal and that meant going out into the woods wasn't much of an option, he propped himself up and continued to watch and observe when he saw Jesus coming close.

"Hey, I wanted to show you something."

Daryl raised an eyebrow but nodded and pulled himself up off the ground. He followed Jesus with a slight limp from his time with the saviors, Jesus offered his arm and Daryl took it slowly unsure of himself as he moved.

From the moment he met Jesus he got butterflies and he didn't know how to explain them. He didn't ever think he'd be the kind of person to fall in love, never thought he'd get that lucky.

Jesus helped him towards the garden, he noticed Glenn's grave and a wall of colorful flowers. Daryl smiled as he looked the tulips over. "They're really pretty." Daryl muttered looking them over.

Jesus smiled. "Yeah, they are. That's not what I wanted to show you though."

Daryl gawked at him surprised there was more. Jesus smirked and took his hand dragging him towards the tulips, he brought him to a small hole in the ground. "Look Daryl."

Daryl looked into the hole and couldn't help but smile as he saw a few small baby rabbits within. Daryl crouched down to inspect them closer a soft smile on his lips. Jesus grinned, he was happy to see Daryl finally smile again.

When he came back from the saviors it was hell, he was still recovering from it all. Now however he was coping but he was still having bad days. Jesus just wanted to make him smile.

"Where have you been sleeping?"

Daryl looked up at him for a moment before looking back down at the little bunnies. "To be honest all over, but mostly in the trees."

Jesus frowned before kneeling beside him slowly lowering close. "Daryl," he placed his finger under his chin carefully tilting his face up to look him over, "would you want to share my bed?"

Daryl's face grew a deep red color. Surprise washing over him. "You'd want me to sleep with you?"

"I want to know you're safe, that you're okay, but yes."

"I'm safe I'm fine." Daryl muttered.

"Are you?" Jesus asked gripping his chin unmoving.

Daryl fumbled with his words he bit his lip. "You want me to sleep with you?" Daryl asked again.

"I do." Jesus muttered. "Look, I... I care about you Daryl. When I found out you were taken by the saviors I was a mess. I needed to know you were okay, and not that you're here and I still hardly see you I worry. I just need to know you are okay."

Daryl blushed a deep red before Jesus leaned forward and kissed him desperately. Daryl muttered in surprise and returned the kiss until soon they were laying in the tulips, Jesus pinned him down against the soft grass. Daryl moaned in surprise as Jesus continued to kiss him holding him close.

"Oh.. Jesus." Daryl mumbled.

Jesus smirked and kissed him again and again "Daryl I love you."

Daryl gasped into the kisses he couldn't believe he was getting this kind of attention. Especially from Paul. "You really do?" Daryl asked not sure if he believed it.

"I do. I love you." Jesus repeated kissing him again. Daryl's world was turning, he couldn't fully comprehend what Jesus went through while he was held captive but he also didn't know how he could love him. He didn't feel worth that to anyone but Jesus was different and very adamant about his feelings. Daryl was peppered with more and more kisses as they laid in the flowers.

Jesus plucked one and placed it between Daryl's ear. "I'm serious when I say I love you." Jesus repeated kissing him again. "I love you Daryl Dixon."

"I love you too Jesus." Daryl managed out after a few more breathless kisses.

"So you'll start sleeping in my bed won't you?"

"Yeah... yeah I will." Daryl promised.

Jesus smiled and picked him up spinning him around before setting him back on his feet. "I just worry about you, about your health. I love you."

Daryl was beyond relieved Jesus liked him back, wanted him happy, he was just thankful he came back to Hill-Top he kept seeing Jesus's face during his time with the Saviors. He was worried sick they'd kill Jesus.

Now he was back with him and they were happy, and they would keep it that way.
