Page 48: Can You Feel My Heart Beat?
YOU THOUGHT THIS WAS YURI ON ICE!!! HAAAAAAA YOU WISH!
I miss the chapters I used to do where it would just evolve around one thing without any conflict. I figured out one for Ashley.
In the My Hero Academia universe she is really good ice skating. She likes to ice skate and it's like a totally different person because ice skating rinks are so cold that she doesn't melt.
At least not too much to the point where it's a problem. So she's not a different person she's just able to express herself more, something that she has a problem with.
Because of the melting thing, the reason why she melts all the time when she feels emotions is because she's 90% liquid and other 10% is mechanical. I personally think the mechanical thing can also work with Kate's character because maybe she makes updates to Ashley occasionally.
What's Kate's problem? Or from a writing standpoint arc. I'm curious.
Also I was three seconds away from making the title 'Born to make History' because you know, ice skating, Yuri on ice, but I think 'Can You Feel My Heart Beat?' Is not only a better fitting title but still a lyric from the intro.

Fandom: My Hero Academia
"...There'll be no more darkness if you believe in.. yourself you are unstoppable.."
Ashley sung softly to herself as she glided around the skating rink. She was only one there since she paid off the owner let her stay after hours.
She wasn't wearing a coat or any type of protective gear. All she had was roller skates, a couple of books, and a water bottle.
She was wearing just ice skates, a short sleeve shirt, and jeans.
Now, you may be asking the most obvious question here.
Isn't this bitch cold?
And she was, she was freezing. But it was all worth it knowing that she could sing her favorite songs and read some of her favorite books and be able to express herself without worrying about melting right then and there and not being able to see or hear or smell anything since she'll be just a puddle.
"..Where your destiny lies.. dancing on your blades you set my heart on fire.."
Ashley sung softly as she did a side spin flip in the air and landed back on the blades of her ice skates landing on one foot and lifting the other going in a short circle around the ring again.
She closed her eyes as she allowed herself to to feel relaxed and calm without any pressure added to it.
Suddenly she heard clapping.
She opened her eyes to look around to see a boy with brownish-silverish hair clapping for her excitedly.
She smiled brightly to herself.
"Hello Victor" (NOT THE SAME VICTOR)
"Ashley"
Another thing that encouraged Ashley to go to another thing that encouraged Ashley to come to the skating rink was... Victor. He was the son of the owner and would tell Ashley when her time was up. He has offered her out on a few dates but she's declined all of them.
She wanted to keep her skating life and her hero life separate. She didn't know what she would do if anyone in school especially that blonde haired copycat found out that she spends her free time ice skating.
I didn't really help out with the tough demeanor she attempts to show off. There's been times where people have been surprised by how graceful she was with things and she always attempted to try to get them to ignore it. She didn't want anyone to know she had a soft side or else they'd take advantage of it. At least that's what she assumed.
Another thing is Victor has only seen her in the skating rink. He doesn't know about the persona she has to put on when she leaves. And one of the main things he wants in a girlfriend as someone who can express ourselves freely and the really open with him. Something Ashley can't provide.
As Ashley skated to her belongings were Victor walked up to her.
"You know.. the night is still young, and my drink offer still stands."
Victor smirked. Ashley always liked his smirk, it wasn't malicious nor deviant. It was mischievous but with a hint of care put into it. Something she always appreciate it.
Ashley laughed.
"Victor, how many times do I have to tell you you should find someone other than me?"
"More than a million if you're attempting to get me off of you"
Ashley turned around to face him only to see he was right in front of her.
"No Victor, you won't like me outside the skating rink"
"What makes you say that? I don't know about you but there's not a lot of Victor's in this town so this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity"
"Its still a no. The last guy named Victor I was into was gay. Also I don't know about 'once in a lifetime' since you seem to ask me every week"
"Ooh burn, good thing the ice is freezing"
Ashley finish putting the last book in her bag and replacing her shoes. Putting her bag over her head and on her shoulder and holding on to the skates by their laces. Salked out first door into the basement where the skating rink was at heading to the exit door.
Victor wasn't far behind.
"Please Ashl-"
"Victor, I really like you and what we have going on can't progress any more than what it already has. It hurts me to say it and you a little bit as I deny it. I can't go out with you."
The grey eyed male stopped for a second behind her only to pick up speed and start walking right next to her.
"Prove me wrong"
Ashley looked at him stopping in her tracks as she was only one push away from walking outside.
"Victor. Just trust me, I'm a totally different person outside. You'll think I'm ugly or unattractive. You're the only guy I know. And the only other person who knows that I ice skate and how I really am on the inside. The only other person who knows is my sister and I don't want to lose you as a friend or the opportunity to have you as more than that."
She kissed him on the cheek as he stared down at her.
He grabbed both of her hands.
"Prove me wrong. You're the most beautiful girl I've ever met and I refuse to believe that your quirk does anything to your body that would make it unattractive."
Ashley took a deep breath as she removed her hand from his pushing open the door and sticking one hand out.
It started melting instantly.
"This is why Victor. When I feel too much emotion and express it or even keep it bottled up inside too much and I don't force myself to be calm I'll become a melting puddle of messy emotions and you don't need that in your life."
Victor watch that has her fingertip to her elbow started to melt and get all mushy. Then he asked the most douchiest question he could at that moment.
"Does that mean if you ever had or try to have sex you would-?"
"Yes, I try to stay away from something like that since it requires a lot of emotion and love towards an individual and I don't think I can control myself enough to stay solid during something that intimate"
Ashley then stopped for a moment, rethinking the question.
"But that won't matter rig-"
Ashley looked behind her to see the door into the skating rink has opened and was just now being closed.
Victor left.
And Ashley took a deep breath as she tried to contain her sorrowing emotions and walked home. Only to turn into a puddle halfway there and started crying on the ground.
Luckily Kirishima was there.
