She and Kate were walking away from a party scene.

Well... Ashley was basically dragging Kate by hand away from the party upset with the events.

Ashley internal yelled at herself for acting this way. She doesn't make scenes, she doesn't storm off like a drama queen, she doesn't yell at people for behaving as they normally would-..... yes she does... she does all the time.... she was a fucking brat

She felt tired but she was wide awake.

"What happened back there cute- Ashley" Kate cut herself off quickly correcting her common use of the word 'cutie' and replaced it with Ashley

"I- .. I was... stressed " Stressed? but she was at a party what was there for her to be stressed about.

Kate was mad at herself for forgetting that Ashley was fragile and even if the first offense doesn't cause any trouble she needed to see if it was hurting her.

Ashley sadly faintly laughed "This isn't the first time I've done this, you know ditch parties"

"I know, but why? Why make a big scene? Why drag me with you?" Even though she was saying these things Kate wasn't complaining she just wanted to know the source of the problem

Ashley stayed silent.

After thinking the subject over and over and over again in her head Ashley finally came to a conclusion.

"Because of you" As those three simple words left her mouth she snapped

".....because of you I constantly avoid the color blue... Because of you, my face gets red at the mention of your name... Because of you, I made a scene at an actually fun party for once because you went to do what you do best!! And that-!"

"Do you hate me?" Kate's soft tear-jerking words caught Ashley off guard

"No, I-"

"Then what is it? You lead me on only to stop talking to me for a week. You run away from every party I go to. You don't even glance at me when it's lunchtime, and I hear you sigh when we're picked as partners in class. Why would you act this way if you didn't hate me?"

Silence

"I... I like you okay? I like you a lot, and you make me feel weird and I hate that I like it" After saying that she glared at the ground

"I cry so much when I see you with other people that I could probably take Alex's crybaby title and that's hard to do" Ashley wiped her face her tears being replaced by raindrops.

"Ashley.." Kate said gently reaching out to grab Ashley the other hand as she did they stopped walking

"I love you" After saying those honest and true words she expected Ashley to smile all she got was a cold empty laugh

"Ha.. sure you do" It hurt her to say that but she didn't want her heart broken, not again
