"Tonks, you have done brilliantly." Exclaimed Remus as he held Tonks's hand

"I'm....just glad.....it's over." Panted Tonks

"I'm so proud of you. I wonder if our son will be just like you." Remus asked

"Don't really want to think about that after I've just given birth....Remus." Tonks replied, smiling.

Remus laughed. He took his new born child into the bathroom to clean him off. The touch of the water made the baby gurgle, Remus's smile widened. The little tufts of brown hair stuck to the side of the boys face.

Tonks was still panting a little when Remus returned. She tried to sit up but Remus eased her back down.

"Easy, you should rest." Remus said, worried

"I'm fine, just a little sore. Can I see him?" Asked Tonks

Remus gently put their son into her arms. She smiled as the baby's hair turned pink.

"He is just like you." Remus said, stroking the pink hair.

The baby silently slept in his mothers welcoming arms.

"We should call him Teddy, after your dad." Remus said

"Yeah, how I miss him." Tonks said sadly trying to hold back tears.

"He is still here Tonks, he never really left." Said Remus, comfortably

"Welcome to the family little Teddy Remus Lupin." Tonks whispered

"His middle name is Remus."

"Yes, after his brilliant dad." Replied Tonks, smiling.

Remus returned the smile. Tonks handed Teddy back to Remus. Teddy was placed in his cot. Tonks lay flat on her back, her eyes drooping from tiredness.

"I'll leave you to rest. I'll be on the couch if you need me." Whispered Remus

"I need you now, will you stay with me tonight." Tonks said, patting the bed.

Remus stripped down to his underwear and climbed in next to Tonks. He took her in his arms and kissed her on the lips. Cuddling up to her, he smiled his biggest smile for a long time.

"I am so, so, so proud of you Nymphadora Lupin." Remus whispered

"Don't call me, Nymphadora." Tonks giggled as she drifted off to sleep.

———A few weeks later———

"His hair won't stop changing colour," Remus laughed "this morning it was ice blue, then minutes later it was jet black."

"That's normal. I was like that when I was a baby. My hair eid be ginger one minute, then turquoise the next." Tonks replied happily

Tonks and Remus were lying on their bed with Teddy in between them. Teddy was sleeping, his hair a dirty blonde colour. Tonks stroked Teddy's soft cheek, gazing at her innocent son. She was about to say something when she winced in pain.

"Honey are you alright? Asked a very concerned Remus

"Fine, fine. Just some stomach pains. It'll pass." Tonks replied through clenched teeth.

Remus shuffled to sit in front of her. He put his arms around her in a safe hug. She wrapped her legs around his waist so she could get closer to him. They were about to kiss when there was a loud knock at the door. Jumping apart they looked at each other in horror. Who could be knocking on their door at this time?

"Tonks you take Teddy. Keep him close and get ready to go at any moment. I'll see who it is." Said Remus

Remus put on his dressing gown and went to the front door, wand clutched in his right hand. Tonks held Teddy close to her chest, not wanting to put him down. Remus returned shortly, a sad look on his face.

"That was Kingsley. Hogwarts is under attack from He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named and his forces. I have to go and help fight them." Remus said quickly

Tonks's face drained of colour.

"I'm coming to." She replied

"You have to stay here and look after our son."

"I'll get my mum to look after him. I can't sit at home and not know whats happening there, and what's happening to you, Remus. It would kill me inside having to wait for news. And what if you died, what if this was our last moment together. I'm coming with you, no matter what." Tonks said firmly.

Remus saw that no matter what he said, his wife would be coming to fight side by side with him, till the end. They quickly got dressed, Tonks sent a message for her mother to come and look after Teddy.

"Goodbye little Teddy. We'll see you very soon." Tonks whispered sweetly to her young son.

"See you soon little buddy. I'll see you soon Tonks, stay safe." Remus said as he kissed Teddy'a forehead.

"You stay safe till I get there." Tonks said.

They kissed each other passionately before Remus Apperated. Tonks had a nervous wait ahead of her before she could hopefully join her husband for the fight if their life.

And little did they that that was the last time they would see little, innocent Teddy......
