The protective barrier had almost completely formed over Hogwarts. Remus was standing look over the courtyard, a sad expression on his scarred face. Suddenly, he heard clumsy footsteps behind. He knew who it was and he hoped he was wrong.

"Remus!" Tonk cried happily.

He turned around just as she jumped at him. He took her in his arms and spun her around.

"Tonks i though you were going to stay with Teddy?" Remus said, loosening the hug so he could see her face in the light.

"I couldn't stay and not know. Anyway, mum is looking after him till we get back." She replied, her famous smile spread on her face.

"Are you sure you want to do this?" Remus asked, letting her slim body go and taking her hand. They looked back out the window at the barrier, things just got a whole lot more serious.

"Of course. I told you, I'd always be by your side." She replied after a few seconds of silence "I love you Remus."

"I love you to." He said

Then, right in front of them, various lights flashed brightly as the unseen Death Eaters attempted to penetrate the barrier. Tonks gave Remus a petrified look. Her hair turning into a black shade before turning back to blond.

"Don't let go of my hand ok?" Remus called over the noise.

"It's my death wish to be with you to the end, to die along side you. I'll never let you go." Tonks cried, tears of fear beginning to form in her eyes. That was the last thing she said to him before the fighting begun. The barrier turned red and shattered, over two hundred Death Eaters instantly flew into the grounds. Three landed behind Tonks and she had to let go of Remus's hand to attack. They weren't fighting to stun anymore, the times of playing fair were over. They fought to kill. Remus and Tonks had fought and killed over ten Death Eaters and the battle had only just begun.

"Ha ha!" A Death Eater cried as he sent the Killing Curse at Tonks chest. She just managed to dodge it and retaliated with her own curse, but the Death Eater had already gone. She heard a thump behind her. She spun round and saw Remus lying on the floor, dead. His eyes wide open in shock, his mouth open as if he was about to speak.

"NOOO! REMUS NO!" She screamed. She collapsed beside him and turned his pale face in her direction. She searched his eyes for any sign of life, but there wasn't any left, his shining light had been extinguished in a heartbeat. She clutched his chest as she wept out loud.

"Remus please don't be dead please." She begged, but it was no use, she had lost him forever.

"Aw what's happened here. Lil werewolf's dead. Is he dead Tonks?" A taunting voice yelled behind her. Tonks jumped up and spun around to see who it was. The only thing she saw was green, before her light inside had also, been turned out.

"Remus." She whispered in her last breath as she fell, inches from her husband.

Remus and Tonks lay side by side. Tonks never got her death wish, her hand was millimeters apart from her husbands. Even in death, they were almost together...but not truly
