Just Imagine; part 3

Harry had been drifting from his dad through the holidays. He had found out that James had been seeing another women, and Harry wasn't pleased one bit.

"Harry, it's been eleven years since your mother died, I need to move on." James said sadly, his hazel eyes boring into Harry's green ones.

Harry scoffed before storming off to his room. James sighed before sitting down. He had had a feeling that Harry wouldn't take it well, but not like this.

"What should I do, Remus?" James sighed. Remus had come over to help with the cooking. James's girlfriend, Tiffany, was coming over that night.

"Give him time James. It takes a while for children to settle with a new parent figure." Remus said in a matter-of-factly tone. "As long as you make sure he tries to be nice to her, you'll get along fine."

"I hope so. I love her." James sighed happily. "But she could never replace my Lilyflower."

Remus put the pot of potato down and sat in front of James. "How are you doing?"

"I miss her, Remus, like crazy. Some morning I still think she's here. And waking up to an empty bed makes me feel so alone."

"You've been in love with her since you were eleven, its understandable." Remus said. "And anyway, James, there are some deaths we just can't get over, and that's alright."

James smiled sadly, his hazel eyes glistening with tears. Remus pulled him forward into a hug.

"Sorry. I'm being stupid." James sniffed, wiping his eyes.

"You're being human, James." Remus said, looking right in the eyes.

*~*~*~*~*Later That Night*~*~*~*~

"Harry, Tiffany is coming over soon so please stay in your room and pack for your stay at the Weasley's." James said. "And please be quiet. Tiffany doesn't know we are wizards and I don't want her to find out for a while."

Harry nodded before stomping up to his room. He hated his dad for telling him to try to be quiet, like be didn't exist.

"Stupid dads girlfriend." Harry muttered darkly as he slammed his bedroom door shut. Just as he did so, he heard the front door open and a women's voice. As Harry turned to his bed, he noticed something jumping up and down excitedly. The something stopped bouncing at the sound of his gasp and turned around to look at Harry.

"Harry Potter," the creature gasped, "such an honor it is to meet you!"

"Uh. Not that I'm wanting to be rude, but who are you and why are you in my bedroom?" Harry asked

"I'm Dobby, sir. Dobby the house elf." The elf said. "Dobby has come to warn Harry Potter that he must not return to Hogwarts. Terrible things are going to happen."

"What terrible things."

"Dobby can not say, sir. But you mustn't return. Harry Potter must swear that he will not return to Hogwarts."

"But I can't. Hogwarts is the only place I can do magic, I love it there. I have friends there." Harry cried. "And my dad will force me to go there anyway."

"Harry Potter is full of greatness, Dobby had been hearing so. But Harry Potter must head my warning."

"I can't. Hogwarts is basically my second home!" Harry cried

"Then Dobby has no choice, sir. " Dobby said sadly.

Before Harry could react, Dobby yanked open his door and ran downstairs. As Harry reached the kitchen, he saw Dobby making a cake hover in midair. Remus and James had baked the cake for the dessert. Thankfully both James and his girlfriend had their back to the door so they couldn't see anything. Both were laughing loudly.

"Dobby, don't." Harry said in a whispered beg.

"Harry Potter must swear he will not return the Hogwarts." Dobby hissed

"Dobby I can't, please."

"Dobby must do this, for uHarry Potters own good.

Harry watched in horror as the cake floated towards Tiffany. Arms extended, Harry held his hands out to grab the cake, but he was too late; Dobby had cut the levitation charm and the cake fell on Tiffany's head. She screamed and jumped up, wiping cake off her. James turned to see Harry standing there, some of the cream on his hands.

'Tiffany, I'm so sorry." James cried. "That's my son Harry, the boy I was telling you about. He was upstairs packing for his friends house. I asked him to not make too much noise because you were here."

"Goodbye James." Tiffany sniffed.

"But-"

"Bye." Tiffany took her coat and bag, and left the house quickly. Harry still had his arms outstretched, while James looked sadly after Tiffany.

"Dad I ... I swear I-"

"Go to your room, Harry." James said bluntly

"But-"

"Now." James yelled, making James flinch. "You'd better finish packing, because you are going to the Weasley's tomorrow.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Harry sat at the table, anxiously looking around. Ron had gotten the Howler from his mum a few minutes ago, and he was dreading what his father had to say.

"Harry, is that Hedwig?" Hermione asked, pointing at the ceiling.

Harry looked to where she was pointing. Sure enough, Hedwig was flying towards him, a jet black envelope in her mouth.

"Another Howler." Seamus laughed.

The letter was dropped in front of Harry and it started shaking before James's voice echoed through the hall.

'HARRY JAMES POTTER! YOU GOT TO HOGWARTS IN A MAGIC FLYING CAR ...... I'VE NEVER BEEN SO PROUD OF YOU! SIRIUS WAS PROUD OF YOU AS WELL, REMUS NOT SO MUCH BUT HE'S GLAD YOU'RE OK. YOU ARE DEFINITELY MY SON, WE TAUGHT YOU SO WELL! ME AND SIRIUS CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR ABOUT WHAT YOU DO NEXT.

LOVE,

DAD'

The hall was silent before it erupted with laughter.

"Trust dad and Sirius to have that attitude." Harry laughed, glad he wasn't in trouble with his dad.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Harry couldn't sleep that night. He had found out that he was a Parselmouth. He had heard that his dad was in the castle to talk to Dumbledore, but what about was a complete mystery. He was sure that thy both thought he was a freak, like everyone else. Harry had seen it in their eyes, they were judging him and watching him like he was going to attack them. Maybe he would do? Maybe he was the Heir of Slytherin?

Sighing heavily, he lay back on his bed and closed his eyes, wishing to fall asleep.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"He did what!?" James cried. "I thought it was a myth."

"No, it is very much real. And thanks to Harry, he, Ginny Weasley and the rest of the school are now safe. As well as a certain house elf named Dobby." Dumbledore said happily

"He gets into too much trouble for his own good. Lets hope next year he will be safer."

"I hope so." Dumbledore said. "Now, as it is the last day of school and the students are heading to the train, you can take Harry home now."

"Thanks sir." James said, before leaving.

Ten minutes later, Harry and James were at home, having a serious talk.

"Harry, as much as I am proud of you for what you have done, you really need to be more careful next year. I don't want to hear you being hero anymore." James said

"Ok dad."

"I already lost your mother, I don't want to miss you." James said sadly. "On another note, it'll just be you, me, Remus and Sirius from now on."

"No one else?" Harry asked

"No one else." James confirmed, smiling.
