Harry and Ginny

Harry was making his way to The Burrow. It was the sixth Christmas Eve since the Battle of Hogwarts. Teddy usually stayed with him every two months for two months. He was growing up so fast and was currently staying at The Burrow as well. But that wasn't the reason why Harry was going over there. He had been dating Ginny ever since the Battle had finished. Ok, so not exactly straight after, a fair few months, but still.

He knocked on the door loudly and waited. He made sure the ring box with the ring in it was there before turning his attention to who was opening the door. It was George.

"Hi George." Harry said happily

"Hello Harry. C'mon in." George said, stepping aside to let him in. George still hadn't gotten over Fred's death. He still sat in his room for days on end without making an appearance once. Andromeda was the same. Losing her husband, daughter, and son-in-law in the space of a month, was too much. But she was doing better than George. But she was currently spending Christmas alone, she wanted it to be that way.

The warmth of the house washed over Harry's cool body as he stepped in.

"Harry!" Mrs Weasley cried happily, running over and hugging him tightly.

"Mrs Weasley. How are you?" Harry asked through the sound of his ribs creaking

"Very well dear, and yourself?"

"Good. I'm alright." Harry replied. He followed Mrs Weasley into the living-room where the rest of the Weasley's and Teddy where. The Christmas's seemed to be getting quieter as each year passed. Especially since it wad without Tonks making everyone laugh, Fred helping George pull pranks, Remus have chats with everyone. Still, even Sirius's absence was noticeable, even after all that time.

"Harry!" Another women's voice cried happily. Harry turned around to see Ginny on the stairs. She smiled and ran over to him, hugging him tightly, kissing him lovingly.

"Oi, save it for another time." Someone cried with horror

"Ronald. Shut up." A women laughed.

Harry parted from Ginny and turned to see Hermione and Ron standing behind him.

"Hi. How have you both been?" Harry asked, embracing them both in one giant hug.

"Alright." Ron replied.

"Fine. And you?" Hermione replied

"Alright." Harry said.

"Ok everyone, dinner is ready." Mrs Weasley said happily from the kitchen. Everyone got up from their seats and chatted more as they sat at the table. All but one chair was filled with a person. Teddy was sitting next to Harry, his hair changing colour every few minutes. It was about ten minutes into the meal before Mrs Weasley spoke up.

"Is everyone here?" she asked, looking around.

"Yes, I think so Molly." Arthur said

"No...." Molly said quietly. "Oh, where's Fre-"

Mrs Weasley gasped, her kind eyes filling with tears. George stiffened when he heard his twins name. He dropped his fork before heading out the room, holding back tears, but he didn't last long. They heard George breakdown halfway up the stairs to his room. Teddy sat sadly as he heard the cried of pain coming from above them, he had heard them far too many times, from himself.

"I'm sorry," she sniffed, trying to block out the cries, "I'm always doing that. Silly me. Silly, silly me."

"Mum, it's ok, we all miss him." Bill said kindly, taking her hands in his.

The crying was getting too much for Teddy, he got off his chair and headed for the stairs.

"Teddy, don't." Harry called.

"Why?" Teddy asked

"Because he needs to be alone just now." Harry replied

"But maybe I cou-"

"No, Teddy. George just needs time to get over his loss." Harry sighed. "I don't think you could help."

"Of course I could help!" Teddy cried. "Don't forget I lost both my parents that very same day, Harry, I know how it feels to have hopeless longing."

Harry sat there in a stunned silence as Teddy ran out the room, his small footsteps could be heard running, and then stopping.

"Lets move this to the living-room, eh?" Mr Weasley said after a few more minutes of eating in silence. Everyone murmured in agreement before leaving the table. The two Weasley parents hugged sadly before joining them.

The rest of the night passed happily, everyone's moods improved. George joined them not so long after. The evidence of his breakdown was clear, but he smiled and laughed, just like he used to. Teddy returned as well, but soon fell asleep on the sofa so Harry put him to bed.

"Harry come on, it's almost midnight!" Ginny cried excitedly from downstairs.

Almost midnight! It was time. Harry grinned as he ran down the stairs. He saw Ginny standing excitedly in the middle of the room. Two minutes to midnight.

"Harry come on!" she cried excitedly. She always did love staying up till very early on Christmas morning.

"I'm here." Harry puffed, bending over. Slyly putting the box up his sleeve, he kneeled down in front of Ginny.

"Ginny, I've known you for many, many years. We've been through a lot together, even at the beginning. And, with you, I've found happiness even when things are really tough. I always find myself thinking of you every time. So, for that reason," Harry paused, took out the small box and opening it. "Ginny, will you marry me?"

Ginny gasped with surprise, the others looking on with happiness.

"Yes. Yes Harry, I'll marry you." Ginny squealed. Harry slipped the ring onto her finger. Molly squealed with happiness as the clothes clapped and wolf whistled.

And as the clock chimed midnight, the twos lips met, to seal the new promise.
