You can find excitement from many things in life. If it be all the small things, or what the future holds. But for Draco Malfoy and Harry Potter, their excitement came from keeping their love a secret, from everyone.
Only Ginny and Astoria had known of their secret relationship. They didn't exactly mind, as long as the men still loved them like they used to.
But Ginny died when she was only sixty-one. Harry was devastated, but Draco had always there for him.
"Thank you, Draco," Harry said, taking Draco's wrinkled hand, "for always being there for me."
Harry smiled plesantly, but Draco didn't return it.
"Harry, I've been thinking, for a while now ... we can't do this anymore. I can't." Draco said.
"W-what? Why not?" Harry asked
"We've been keeping it secret for years. There have been suspicions but always been denied. And I recently, I've been finding that I don't love you like I did when we were boys." Draco replied, slowly standing up.
"Draco, please don't." Harry said, his eyes filling with tears. "Please."
"I'm sorry Harry. But I can't continue this. Both our wives are now dead, children grown up with children of their own. We need to focus on the family we have left while it lasts." Draco sighed. "I truly am sorry."
Draco turned away from Harry and hobbled towards the door. Thinking quickly, Harry stood as well.
"Don't Draco. I lost Ginny, and now you." Harry said desperately. "I love you."
Draco turned to half face his old lover. "I know." he said in monotone as he opened the front door to Harry's house and left.
Standing there in utter shock, Harry felt his heart break. And for the first time in seven years, since Ginny died, he felt truly alone once again

The news all over the Wizard World a week later shocked everyone; the great and famous Harry James Potter had died peacefully in his sleep. Many thought it was due to old age, he was sixty-nine after all. But Draco knew the truth; Harry had died from a broken heart. Most of the people/family of Harry had died or left him. It was just Draco that had pushed him that bit over the edge.
Until the day he himself died, Draco never stopped feeling guilty for Harry's death.
He had been the death of his lover. And his lover was now the death of him.
