Quick question: Do people like the fantasy ideas in which there is a hero and whatnot or ideas like my Wattpad Lovestory one better?

-takes place in a world very similar to our own, with one major difference
-eveyone has a power
-at some age a person gets their power
-there could be drama with powers and stuff if writer wants
I have basically only figured out the main plot which is:
-the main character has a crush on someone with mind-reading powers *dunh duNH DUNNHHHH*
-and that is all the plot that I have
