(Mostly talking about Timon and Pumbaa cuz they're everyones favorite dads.)
Spoiler Alert! The movie is actually AMAZING! Yes, I do see some problems, but there aren't many. So let's start with the negatives.

BUT ACTUAL WARNING. SPOILERS. THEY EXIST AND THEY ARE IN THIS POST. BE CAUTIOUS BECAUSE THIS MOVIE HAD SOME DIFFERENCES TO THE ORIGINAL.

Negative 1. CGI

CGI is actually perfect, I mean it looks the way Africa and The Pride Lands would look like in real life. What did you expect? Of course the characters are gonna look that way! But the CGI does cause some problems.

Example: Less Emotion.

It does seem like the Lions are bored most of the movie lmao, when you have CGI like that you can't really show too much facial expression. Duh. Real animals! Again, what did you expect? But it was fun seeing them still.

Less cartoony(obviously) since it's a Live Action and of course that would take some comedic effect away, but I'm gonna point out later about how Disney obviously noticed that and fixed the problem.

CGI is great but it does take a lot away from the original animation.

Negative 2. Voice Acting:

Beyonce is not an actress. She is a singer. I felt like Disney wasted their money hiring Beyonce, I mean her singing voice is WONDERFUL! And she upstaged the crap out of Donald Glover that it became hilarious. But her voice acting skills weren't on point, maybe they should've hired her for specifically Nala's singing voice, like what they did with Ariana Grande for Mina in SING. That turned out well.

Now let's have a lil chat about JD McCrary! He was great! A great singer and everything! Singing and Acting is his thing and he's great at it! Have you heard his voice, makes everyone drop DEAD. But I feel as if he should've had more training for voice acting, voice acting and acting are two different things so a voice coach would've helped. This was his first voice acting job.

During the scene where he cried for his dad, I felt like his voice just seemed too whiny and high pitched. Maybe if it was a bit more lower and solemn it would've been perfect but his whiny crying voice is probably the reason I didn't cry during Mufasa's death. Don't get me wrong, the kid was amazing and I couldn't think of anyone better but maybe he should've gone through a little more training.

[Lol just learned this movie isn't really a live action. Just CGI animation lmao]

Negative 3. Vocal Pairings.

Don't make Donald Glover and The Queen Bee sing the same song, I've said it before and I will say it again. SHE UPSTAGED HIM SO HARD THAT IT WAS FUNNY. I could barely hear Donald's voice over hers! It was so dissapointing to see that obviously one singer was better than the other, when you know you should always pair up singers with the same vocal strength.

Beyonce's voice was way too powerful for his and we all knew it. She was sitting there riffing and hitting them notes like it was nothing and I could just see Donald in the corner like

"Disney. Why. I thought we were cool. You making me look bad infront of this GODDESS."

I love Donald Glover's voice in every way, but if you put him next to Beyonce. You know who I'm gonna choose. They're not equally talented in any way, sorry to break it to you.

She was overqualified for this song lol

Negative 4. WASN'T BE PREPARED MUCH LONGER LIKE...WTH DON'T DO SCAR LIKE THAT.

Negative 5. NALA FRIGGIN RUINED THE HARMONY TIMON, PUMBAA AND THE OTHER ANIMALS HAD BY FRIGGIN ALMOST EATING PUMBAA, LIKE GURL. THEY WERE GETTING IT TOO.

Lmao and that's really all the negatives mostly. And some of these negatives were really well covered.

POSITIVES! a.k.a me fangirling

Remember when I said that the CGI would make things less cartoony, ruining the comedic effect? Well Disney OBVIOUSLY spotted that, because their amazing writers made the dialouge HILARIOUS.

Zazu was really funny, but he got rekt by almost everything it was sad.

Remember the scene where Timon dressed in drag and did the hula to sell Pumbaa as bait? He did a lot of moving around, those hips didn't lie. And Disney knew they couldn't do that because for obvious reasons a real Meerkat couldn't move like that. So instead of hilarious dancing, we got hilarious references!

Timon sat on Pumbaa's back and in the best Lumiere accent, he said:

"And greatest pleasure!~ That we proudly present! Your dinner~..."

Thou music began

"Be...Our! G-"

Only to be ruined by the Hyenas chasing a screaming Timon and Pumbaa away. Hilarious right? Not much movement involved but of course it was still funny!

Just to make things even funnier to cover up the movement CGI problem.

In Hakuna Matata, instead of:

"EVERYTIME THAT I-"

"Pumbaa! Not infront of the kids..."

We received a very special...

"EVERYTIME THAT I FAAAaaarr- Aren't you going to stop me!?"

"NO! YOU DISGUST ME."

Followed by more bickering as it the camera pans over to Simba. It was great.

So yeah, less cartoony movement, but more humor! Also, don't fat shame Pumbaa. It won't end well. Turns out he is a very strong boy!

More positives!

These vocals were just AH! JD McCrary can really sing! I enjoyed listening to his voice, I could've listened to him ALL DAY.

Donald Glover's voice was amazing! And I loved him singing AH.

Simba: Hakuna Matata~

Timon: Oh, god. Now he's riffing!

Beyonce. Was. A. GODDESS I WANT HER TO BE MY GRANDMA LIKE. MY WISE GRANDMA WHO TEACHES ME WISE OLD TALES AND IS KINDA WEIRD BUT LIKE HONESLTY THE BEST AND SHE KISSES ME ON THE CHEEK AND PATS MY HEAD AND I LOVE HER DON'T JUDGE ME. I SEE YOU JUDGING.

Chiwetel as Scar. Just kill me now. My body can rest knowing this beautiful man is alive and he shall be at my funeral and sing. Because his voice is HEAVEN.

Bro. Imma say it right now. WHEN WAS SETH ROGEN EVER ABLE TO SING? LIKE HIS HARMONY WITH BILLY WAS JUST AMAZING....WHEN WAS BILLY EVER ABLE TO SING!? Billy and Seth can become my adoptive animal dads any day! As long as I get to sing Hakuna Matata with them I mean, SIMBA IS A LUCKY KID, HE MET THOSE TWO WOW.

Bad Rhyme. But it had to be done.

Billy and Seth could make good music together and I would listen to it on a daily basis.

EVEN MORE POSITIVITY

The acting was so good! Besides Beyonce of course, like I said, she's a beautiful singer, but honey she ain't no actress. But her voice is probably what covers that up. lol they gave her like 10 lines tho- Anyway! Yes. Good. Amazing. Acting.

Zazu was just aahhhh he was funny and I love him and he gets no respect. He needs to get more respect! John Oliver truly did an amazing job on Zazu, he's no Mr. Bean but he I really loved him as Zazu!

JAMES EARL JONES BACK AT IT AGAIN. YOU KNOW IT Y'AALLLL! You can't replace the true Mufasa. It wouldn't be right.

Donald Glover and JD McCrary did amazing on Simba, but as I've said, JD could use just a bit more work before he decides to get into big voice acting jobs again. But they were a perfect match for Simba and they were amazing and very lovely.

Shahadi Wright Joseph. Don't get me started oh my god. Can she like...please. Be my friend. I need her to be my friend. She is superior and I love her so much. PLEASE BE MY FRIEND.

CHIWETEL IS EVIL. HE MADE SCAR WAY MORE HATABLE LIKE REALLY. I used to feel bad for Scar but then Chiwetel was like "lol that ain't gonna last long." And he did so good being evil! He should be more Disney Villains! Maybe Dr. Facillier in a Live Action Princess and The Frog. HOW AMAZING WOULD THAT BE!?

Alfre Woodard. That's all I'm saying. ALFRE. WOODAAAAAAAAAARRRDD.

BILLY MADE TIMON SASSY AS HECC

HE WAS SASSIER THAN I REMEMBERED AND I'M THERE FOR IT.

Seth Rogen melted my heart with Pumbaa, Pumbaa is a hufflepuff, unless he's done with Timon's crap, then he turns into a Ravenclaw real quick. He be dropping the facts.

Seth Rogen...aahhhh be more Pumbaa. We need more. It was so cute it kills me. ALSO. PUMBAA IS STRONG.

Pumbaa: Did he just call me fat?

Timon: Stop. Don't. It's a hyena. You're gonna die.

AND THEN HE STRAIGHT UP REKT THEM AND I WAS JUST AS SHOOK AS TIMON. THEY CALL ME MR. PIG! AAAAAAAAAAAGGGHHHH!

Can I just say. Timon and Pumbaa fight like an old married couple. They bickered, A LOT I MEAN COME ON. Over the smallest things. Me too tho. And Timon blaming Pumbaa for stuff is a sad mood.

Timon: What did you say to him now? Why'd you laugh?

Pumbaa: You laughed too!

Timon: EH. E H. I WOULD NEVER.

Also before I watched this people said Timon and Pumbaa were gay dads and I was just like "Gay? They just seem like good friends! I mean I see it. But I also don't, it's weird." But after watching this I see nothing BUT THE GAY DADS CONCEPT BCUZ THAT'S WHAT THEY ARE. GAY. DADS. I STAN IT. LGBTQ REPRESENT. PLEAKLEY AND JUMBAAAA-

Okay I'll stop. It's 5 am and I'm sleep deprived.

But like, if they are gay dads, don't make it sexual, that's disgusting. Just stop. Stop it right there. Flirting is normal but like stop, their friendship obviously would come before their romance. OBVIOUSLY. They just happen to be best friends who love each other in a non platonic way! So they'd make something more of it. But making it sexual is just ruining the entire thing. GET IT TOGETHER PEOPLE. d i s g u s t a n g.

And also another thing.

Simba calling Nala his best friend after spending his ENTIRE LIFE with a certain warthog and meerkat is a load of HOOEY. And I'm not standing for it. That was rude, Simba. That was almost as cold as SCAR.

AND TIMON CALLING SIMBA HIS FRIEND IS ALSO A LOAD OF HOOEY. Timon. He's ur son. And you know it. That boi is ur son. Get it together. He ain't ur friend, he ur family. Specifically ur son.

Lion King 1 1/2:

"Our boy is growing up!"

HE'S YOUR SON GET IT TOGETHER. YOU SEE THIS. P R O O F.

Timon and Pumbaa are the best dads. *le cri*

Anyway, back to the actual plot lol, more positives.

Just. Everything. It was so good and I don't think there has ever been a better movie than this one! To me atleast, this is the first time I liked the Live Action better than the original animation. The voice actors were amazing. The singers were amazing. The CGI animators were amazing. The music was amazing. The writers were amazing. The producers were amazing. The executive producers were amazing. The directors were amazing. The animals used for design were amazing. The designers were amazing. All the jobs done were amazing. All the men included were amazing. All the women included were amazing. All the kids included were amazing.

I love this movie and it really hurts that it's getting a lot of hate, it really really does. Considering that people shouldn't compare it to the original and just watch the dang movie. Things are different, so what? Simba started riffing more, Mufasa didn't say "brother help me" the same way, Scar was more of a jerky pants and Timon let Pumbaa say FARTED!

Calm down. Watch the movie. And I guarantee you'll fall in love with it. It's wonderful!
