It is Wednesday My Dudes
Okay, I promise I won't make a new chapter for every little TV spot, but today is a double feature, so it counts.
Now, first and foremost, technically this TV spot has been out for a couple days because it was first shown as an exclusive clip at a basketball halftime show, but Marvel just today put it out officially.
But we'll get to that in a moment.
So, what was today's absurd thing that I had just gotten out of before the big news? First it's dinner, then stomach cramps...
I had just gotten out of the AP Literature and Composition test and had made the short drive from the location to school to finish out the rest of the day. I park in the overflow parking (there's construction going on at our school which takes up over half of the parking lot, so you get there early or you have to park a little ways away).
So, my phone had been in my car for the duration of the test because I didn't wanna deal with the hassle of having to switch it off then on blah blah test integrity. I didn't get the news until I parked in the overflow.
I open Tumblr (this is a common theme, I open Tumblr and see something I at first think is a joke) and...
Y'all fucking WHAT--
So, to verify if it was indeed true, I go too the good ol' YouTube:
It is indeed true that "Wednesdays are the new Fridays"
So, good news! Loki will be releasing two days early and every subsequent Wednesday for all six episodes. It's funny, too, because this news comes just after everyone was like "Okay, Loki is a trickster and liar... what if the date is a lie?"
I guess it was.
Cue my sudden unholy screams. I burst out of the car (I still had to go to ceramics) and just fucking bolt to the school because the energy and adrenaline just hit me. My friend Savannah gets out of her car (she took the AP test, too) as I rush by and she's like "what the fuck?" So I explain the situation and she's like "No, I'm happy for you, I'm excited for you!" And she says this genuinely.
So, if you're wondering, I literally ran a good several yards because of a 48 hour change in a release date.
Man, what has my life come to?
Anyways, after I finish processing that (changing my calendar on my phone and my countdown), I do my class, get home, and break out the white out because I had pretty aggressively circled the 11th on my paper calendar which now needed to be changed.
Then I see Marvel finally posts the first mini promo video:
Now, just based on the title I knew this was just gonna be releasing the basketball game promo thing. But I'm not really complaining because now we get all the shots in HD.
So
I could go frame by frame, but I'm being lazy, so I'll just show some of the new stuff.
I just enjoy this shot because it's like "We mean business" and Loki in a second just looks so goddamn tired. But I also love how Loki's jacket collar is always popped up.
"Maybe Loki wants to mix it up, is that possible? He can change?" My dude Mobius is talking with this woman, who, since last time, has now gotten a name: Ravonna Renslayer
Basically she's a TVA judge who is involved romantically with Kang the Conquerer in the comics.
"This Variant is Insubordinate, Stubborn, Unpredictable" she says in regards to Loki as we flash through some shots, first of Loki basically buzzing in with this old style bell:
Shows how mid century the TVA really is, not much modern technology.
Now I'd love to know who Loki is greeting here, but this looks like the same setting as the iconic knife flippy from the first trailer:
Anyways, we get a nice shot of TVA HQ:
And, idk why, but this really reminds me of the Axiom from Wall-E. I dunno what it is, but it just gives me that same vibe.
And, y'all, my dudes, I can't reiterate how much I love this part:
This little shit can just dry himself off with his magic and make his hair more floofy and again, pops the collar.
Also the Minute Man next to him is just like "... the fuck?"
(Okay, I just realized I am sort of shot-for-shotting this, but there's just so much packed in)
Anywas, we cut to Pompeii again where Loki is breaking away from Mobius like a kid breaking away from his dad:
Then he does the Hamilton thing... Literally. It's the same fucking pose
And screams
"Right on cue!" As Vesuvius erupts behind them:
This little shit is just loving this, knowing exactly when shit's gonna happen. This also looks like the same marketplace from the second trailer:
And TiredDadMobius.jpg
Yet still he has nice things to say about Loki.
"He's doing great!" He says to a skeptical Ravonna. "But he's really arrogant."
Then we get the now classic "Loki's Time Has Come" thing...
Which can have... unfortunate cropping problems:
And he repeats one of his most famous lines in this shot, which is probably a continuation of the sandy dune shot from the first trailer:
He also Smashes some dude's face in
And I had been thinking that it probably was some kind of restaurant based on the booths in older shots, but the bar setting kind of confirms it for me.
Then this cryptic ass shot:
Is the blue beam the bifrost? What's that rock? What's the importance?
So many questions...
"Unbelievable! Wherever you go, it's just death, destruction, the literal ends of worlds!" Mobius cries as he interrogates Loki:
And it's using this shot of Loki after, which we all know is spliced together because it's a different setting to older shots in this room and Loki is wearing his suit instead of his prison jumpsuit:
Another 10/10 expression.
That's about it for new stuff, except for the VO now confirms the June 9th date.
So, lemme know your thoughts, my dudes! What do you think of the new date and the new trailer shots?
