Cue the X-Files Theme
So. 2019 this book comes out:
It's a shitty pic, but it's mine cos I own it (and finished it in three hours oops).
Anyways, I didn't revisit it much after I finished it except to meme the shit out of it by commenting with sticky notes on the pages. But I was just casually flipping through it one day and I suddenly realized.
"Hold the FUCK up. The WHAT society?"
Cause apparently I neglected to remember when I started to accidentally allow Crimson Peak to consume my poor soul that the society in the Loki book is called SHARP
A book
About Loki
That takes place in the Victorian Era
Has Loki working
With the SHARP Society?
My brain:
"What kind of fuckerie is this...?"
Okay, yeah, yeah, it's a different spelling cause there's no E at the end. But like... Still.
At first I was like 'okay, weird coincidence' and sort of blew it off.
Then, today, actually, I was flipping through again cos I was super bored.
It reminded me that the Society is called that in the book after the late husband of Mrs. S., one of the main characters.
Spoiler territory here, but anyways.
Apparently Mrs. S's mother was a Valkyrie and that's how she's so familiar with the Norse pantheon etc. Not relavant to the theory. Just something to point out.
But the key detail here is her LATE husband.
Mrs. S's husband died.
Mr. Sharp died.
...
My brain:
"Oh SHIT"
Basically in Crimson Peak, Thomas Sharpe is killed by his sister at the end of the movie.
Key detail is he died.
He died leaving his (like, what, third?) wife, the main character Edith, widowed.
Edith strictly believes in ghosts after her experiences ("Ghosts are real something something") and the supernatural, and even writes a book about what happened.
In the Loki book, Mrs. S's is a believer of the supernatural and the myths of old (duh, she's a Valkyrie's daughter).
Edith's mother died when she was young, so not much is known about her.
Now, I'm not saying they are the same thing.
But what I am saying is that even if Mrs. S's is described with dark hair, dye exists.
Also, Mrs. S's first name is never mentioned in the book (at least I don't think it is), leaving room for interpretation.
My proposal is that Mrs. S is Edith Cushing-Sharpe from Crimson Peak, and that's why she latches onto Loki so quickly because she sees so much of her late husband in him (before she's killed by Amora oop).
She altered her name an appearance for whatever reason (possibly cause frickin Lucille and not wanting to be followed by her psycho of a sister in law) and goes around solving supernatural and mythological mysteries.
Mackenzie Lee, was this intentional or am I just weird?
Anyways, CUE THE X-FILES THEME
