[Another Sonadow warning]

*Sonic's POV*

I yawned as I woke up and walked downstairs. Today is Thanksgiving, and I am making the food for my friends- but really, they're like my family- and me. I want it all to be perfect because I have the biggest announcement!

Shadow and I are together.

We have been for a week now, but we're both scared of how everyone will react... so I have decided that I'm going to tell everyone today. Right before we eat. I just hope they don't hate us...

I know what everyone will think: But they're rivals! How did that even happen!?

Well... it all happened a week ago...

*We're gonna have a flashback now :3*

I was walking through Green Hill Zone when I saw Shadow watching the sunset. He was sitting, his arms rapped around his legs and his head on his knees. He looked so... peaceful... I had to sit beside him.

"Hey Shads." I smiled as I sat down beside him.

Almost instantly, he went from a look of peacefulness to a more alert look. He obviously thought he'd be alone.

"What do you want, faker?" His voice faltered slightly, making him sound less threatening.

I frowned. I liked seeing him all defenseless and peaceful. "You just looked so relaxed and I wanted to join you because you looked so... lonely..."

He looked at me, ruby red eyes boring into my emerald eyes. He quickly looked away, but I could still see a slight blush on his tan muzzle.

"Shadow... are you... blushing?" I asked, a little surprised.

"N-no." He stuttered, his blush darkening.

I grinned, feeling in a teasing mood. "Ooh, does Shadow the Hedgehog like me?"

"Sh-shut up, faker!" He was stuttering again and blushing harder. He quickly turned his head away from me.

My grin faded. I was just joking... wait... "Sh-Shadow? Do you like me...?"

"Maybe I do!" He snapped and stood up.

I grabbed his arm before he could run off. He glared at me. I pulled him close and kissed him.

I pulled away and he stared at me, his red eyes wide. "Wh-what?"

"Well, Shadow, I don't like you. I love you. I have for a while now." I never knew it'd be that easy to confess my feelings for the male hedgehog.

He hugged me. "I love you too, Sonic."

I gasped. He pulled away and looked at me with a frown. "What's wrong?"

"You said my real name." I looked at him, smiling.

"Yeah, I did... though I think I like Sonikku better." The way he said my pet name made me pull him closer to me and kiss him.

He kissed back and when we pulled away, we watched the rest of the sunset...

*End of cute flashback*

We've been secretly dating since then. I suggested yesterday that we should tell them at dinner today. Shadow is really nervous and a little scared.

People think that Shadow is this tough hedgehog who has no emotions besides hate. Well, that's not true. Actually, he's really insecure. It just makes him look cuter in my eyes, though he calls his insecurity a 'curse'.

I started making some of the food when I heard a knock on the door. I went and opened it to see Shadow's smiling face. "Hi Shads! Come in!"

I let him in and closed the door. As soon as I did, Shadow hugged me tight. "Sonic..."

I sighed and stroked his crimson streaked quills. "It'll be okay, Shadow... They will understand."

"But what if they don't...?" Shadow asked. He is so worried about this, and hearing his quivering voice is breaking my heart.

"It'll hurt for a while, but I wouldn't care. I love you Shadow, and nothings going to change that." I kissed his forehead. "Now, would you like to help make the food with me?"

He nods and follows me into the kitchen.

As we are cooking, I am thinking about what I'd say tonight. I love Shadow and our friends to accept us. I'm done with hiding my love for the sweet ebony hedgehog.

No matter what they say, I'm going to still love him.

*Time Skip to the Thanksgiving dinner*

The food was laid out on a long table. In the center was a very delectable looking turkey, if I do say so myself. Shadow sat in one of the many seats.

"Sonic! I'm back and I brought Cream too!" My little bro, Tails called. I soon saw him and his girlfriend, Cream, walk in.

"Hello Mr. Sonic and Mr. Shadow." Cream greeted. Her little blue chao, Cheese, greeted us with his happy little "Chao Chao!"

"Hi Cream and Cheese! Hey Tails!" I smiled.

Shadow responded with his signature 'Hmph'. My smile faltered a little. Shadow was putting up his cold hard cover. My love... why must you hide your true self...?

Tails looked at Shadow, a mix of shock and confusion in his eyes. "Shadow!? You actually showed up!?"

Shadow glared at Tails. "Rouge made me come." He lied.

Tails nodded. "That makes sense."

Then he looked at the food and his mouth watered.

"You hungry, buddy?" I laughed as he nodded eagerly.

There was another knock at the door. I opened it to see... oh no...

Amy...

"SONIKKU!" she yelled as she hugged me tight.

I could hear Shadow growl lowly at Amy. Meanwhile, I was struggling to breathe.

"Amy... too... tight!" I gasped for air as she let me go.

"Sorry Sonikku!" She said. My pet name didn't fit right with her voice... not like Shadow's does.

Soon, all of my friends are sitting at the table. Then I hear a knock...

I curiously opened the door. Right when I saw them, I gasped.

My siblings, Sonia and Manic...

I haven't seen them in... forever!

I gave them both a great big hug. "Sonia! Manic!"

"Sonic!" They both hugged back.

It felt so good to see them again...

At a perfect time too...

"How did you guys find me?" I asked, braking the hug.

"You're friend, Shadow, invited us." Sonia explained with dreamy eyes.

"Sorry, sis, he's already taken." I laughed as I lead them into the dining room.

Sonia pouted. "Really? Who?"

"You'll see." I smiled at Shadow. He's too good to me. He smiled back as I sat beside him, Sonia sitting on the other side of me and Manic sitting in between Sonia and Amy.

"Everybody, meet my brother and sister, Manic and Sonia." I introduced them. Knuckles waved at his old friends. He's probably the only person who has met them. I've told Shadow of them, but I'd never thought that he would find them for me.

"I'm Sonic's girlfriend, Amy." I heard Amy say to Manic.

"Amy." I said, trying not to sound harsh, but she's getting in my nerves with this. "We aren't together. I'm with someone else."

At this, everybody looked at me. Amy's eyes widened. "Who?"

I sighed. Now's as good a time as any time. I glanced at Shadow and he smiled, telling me to go and tell them.

Everybody looked at me expectingly. I smiled as I said the name of the one I love. "Shadow."

Everyone gasped and looked at Shadow for clarification. He nodded with a small smile on his face.

I wrapped my arm around him as we waited for thier rejection. We knew it was going to happen.

Tails was the first to speak. "How long have you two been together?"

"Since last week." I answered. I could tell that Shadow didn't want to say anything or even have people stare at him because he buried his head into my chest. I could see everyone staring right at him because he wasn't usually timid.

It went silent. My ears went down. They don't accept us... but, really, we knew it would happen...

Tails got up and hugged Shadow and me. "I'm happy for both of you. I'll always support you, Sonic, no matter what. That's what friends and family do."

I smiled and Shadow's ears perked up. Sonia and Manic joined our little group hug. Soon, all of my friends came and Shadow and I were in the middle of a large group hug. Even Amy was in it.

They accept us! They really accept us!

After that, we all ate and talked. Shadow was actually conversating. He was coming out of his hard cover.

I noticed that Amy was a bit sad, but Manic seemed to cheer her up. They both talked and laughed. I was happy that Amy wouldn't be sad for the rest of her life. Manic and her seem to make a great couple.

I was so happy to have the one I love snuggled up beside me, and it doesn't matter that we're both male. We are accepted by the ones that care about us most.

This day couldn't get any better...

*A short Shadow's POV*

I am very thankful today...

I am thankful for all of my friends, who accept Sonic and I. I am thankful for this life, though it had it's bad moments.

But most of all...

I'm thankful for Sonic. He always seems to brighten my day, with a race or a simple joke. I love him and he accepts me for who I really am...
