Rickyl

(This was set when they were in Alexandria, before meeting Negan or Jesus.)

Rick's Pov

"Daryl look out!" I screamed as I watched the man next to me almost get bit by a walker.

"I ain't blind Rick! I can see em just fine!" He yelled back, stabbing the knife into the walkers head.

I breath a sigh of relief.

Daryl and I were out on a run. Alexandria was running short on food so I offered to go scavenge. Of course, the archer just had to accompany me. Apparently in his words, "I don't trust yer dumb ass out der all alone."

So here we were, outside a convenience store, fighting off the 10 walkers that were in there.

"Stop daydreamin' and let's go." Daryl said as he gave me a light shove. I rolled my eyes playfully and entered the store.

My eyes widened.

It was stocked to the brim! Almost like no one had ever come here. If we loaded all the food in the car. We'd probably have enough supplies for 2 weeks, maybe more!

Daryl saw my excited face and let out a husky chuckle. "Come on Sheriff, we better get shoppin' before dark."

I nodded and grabbed a trolley, walking straight into the baby isle. Judith was getting bigger by the day but still needed her milk.

I browsed the shelves and grabbed as many baby formula as I could. I also threw in some cereals and baby food.

I strolled into the next isle and wasn't surprised to see Daryl already filling up his kart. It was the liquor isle after all.

"Planning on gettin' drunk?" I smirked, leaning against the trolley in amusement. "Damn right I am." Daryl responded, with a smile small.

It's rare to see the archer smile so everytime he does, I make sure I stare and memorize it. He has a beautiful smile.

Whoa easy there Rick.

"Watcha staring at Grimes?" Daryl asked lowly, almost as if he was daring me to answer. I gulped.

Before I could utter a response, we heard moans.

And no, not sexual moans you nasty shits, the moans of the dead.

Daryl and I peeked out the window to see hundreds of walkers roaming on the streets. This was one of the biggest herds I'd ever seen.

"Close the blinds!" I whisper yelled. Daryl slowly closed the blinds and I made sure to lock the door as quietly as I could.

Luckily, the walkers hadn't seen us but they were still trudging around. As long as we're quite, we'll be fine.

"How long do ya think they're gonna be out there?" I whispered. "Who knows, could be a while. I suggest ya get comfy." Daryl replied, sitting on the ground and opening a bottle of alcohol.

"Seriously? This is not the time to get wasted!" I snapped a bit too loudly. The archer shot me a glare when we heard lots of trudging of feet get closer to us.

"Shut up fore' ya get us caught."

I rolled my eyes before grabbing a bottle of Whiskey and sitting next to the shorter male. If you can't beat em, might as well join em.

"How long do you think we have to wait until their gone?" I mumbled. "Well probably all night cause yer dumbass yelled so loud." Daryl replied, taking a swing of his own bottle.

"All night? But it's so fucking cold." I half whined. Daryl huffed and stood up, walking to the back of the store.

"Here."

The archer threw me a small grey blanket. "It was in the Shopkeepers office, now stop whining." Daryl said, sitting back down next to me.

"But what about y-"

"I'm fine."

I decided to shut up and wrap myself in the thin blanket, happy to finally have some sort of warmth while I drank.

~A few hours later~

It was now dark. The Walkers were still outside but not as many, meaning they would all be gone by morning at least.

Daryl had already finished 3 bottles and was now all but shivering next to me. I only had half a bottle so I wasnt drunk....unlike someone.

"Daryl you're cold, fucking stop being stubborn and share this blanket with me." I sighed. Daryl giggled and shook his head.

Yes, Daryl Dixon giggled.

As I said before, he was wasted.

I was done trying to persuade him so instead I shifted over to where he was and pulled him into my lap.

"WHAT THE FUC-"

I covered the rednecks mouth quickly, hoping that none of the Walkers heard.

"I'm just trying to keep us from freezing to death. Now stay still and go to sleep." I command sternly, pulling the blanket over us.

Daryl opened his mouth to argue but it looked like his brain and his mouth were having a battle. I wrapped my arms around him and pulled him back into my chest.

"Yer tryna fwuck me, ain't you shewiff." Daryl slurred, giggling and hitting my chest as if it was the most hilarious thing he had ever said. I almost choked on my spit but remained calm on the outside.

"Why? Do you want me too?" I teased.

I wasn't expecting a reaction but my eyes widened when Daryl blushed, hiding his face in my shoulder.

"You dooooo!" I sang.

"S-Shut up." Daryl whined. I cooed and kissed the top of his forehead.

"We'll talk about this when you're not drunk hm?" I mused. "M' not dwunk." Daryl yawned.

"Sure sure, but you are tired so get some sleep. Goodnight Daryl." I smiled.

The archer snuggled against me and whispered goodnight. That night I slept peacefully with a giddy smile on my face.

Let's just say in the morning,  Daryl couldn't stop blushing at the position we were in.
