First persons POV of Shannon1300

It's another new spring day. The weather is beautiful. The trees and flowers are starting to bloom and it just can't get much better then this.

Today I'm in my first class and I notice right away that the seat next to mine that is usually empty isn't.

In the seat was a cute boy. I walk up and sit down. He looks over at me and grins in greeting.

" Hello, I'm Rory Flanagan. I'm the new exchange student from Ireland. " he says.

I smile and introduce myself. " Hello. It's very nice to meet you Rory. I'm Shannon. This is my third year here at this school. " I say.

He smiles. " We're the same age then. Next year is my last year of high school. " he says.

I laugh. " Awesome. What brings you here, to Lima Ohio of all places?" I ask.

" My father's work. This is probably the third time we've had to move in my life because of my father's work. " he says.

" Well I'm glad for whatever circumstances brought you here. It's nice to have you here and filling that seat. " I say.

" I'm glad I met you today. Otherwise I'd just be by myself. I'm a nerd. That goes without saying, but I don't care. " says Rory.

" I don't think you're a nerd. You're very different from any nerd I know. You're actually pretty cute. " I say.

He gets a small blush on his cheeks and ducks his head a little. " Thank you. That's very kind of you to say. " he says.

I grin at him. " That blush is pretty cute too." I say teasing him a little.

The blush just darkens to a deep red and he lets out a shy laugh. I end up giggling at that.

He perks up at my laugh. I can tell right then by the look in his eyes that he likes me too.

We ended up talking for a while before class started. I almost feel like this relationship is like love at first sight, but I can quite pin point it.

After a few more classes I start walking toward my locker. That's when I hear it.

The sound of someone hitting the lockers rather hard. Then I hear a voice cry out in pain.

Not just any voice though. Rory, my Rory.

I flip the corner and stare wide eyed for a minute. The bullies are being somewhat brutal towards him.

Every time he moves away from the locker he gets punched again and is sent right back into them.

He's not trying to fight. He's just trying to get away, but they're not letting him. No one else is in the hallway. It's just them.

One of them pins Rory to the locker and holds up something I can't make out.

Rory is terrified though. I can see it on his eyes and by the look on his face.

" Well new student. What do you think of your welcome party?" Says the bully.

" I think it's a rather sucky one. " he snaps at them. I feel pride well up in my chest when I hear him talk back for himself.

" Also. I know that knife is fake. " Snapped Rory.

My eyes widen in fear. Knife!!!

That's what the bully is holding. " How would you know that?" Says the bully.

" Because I've been in a drama class. I know when a knife is real and when one is fake. That's used for a play. It's fake. " Snapped Rory.

That reminds me of when Puck pulled a fake knife out on Rick the Stick. The stupid hockey player that ruined that day for Puck.

The knife was a fake from the play West Side Story. This guy must have gotten it from the room where it was kept.

" Fine, figures is out I take it. Not matter. I can still do damage to you in other ways. " he backed up and in seconds had back handed Rory.

Rory hit the ground hard and ended up having to curl into a ball as they all just sailed on him.

I ran forward then and shoved the head bully away. " Stay away from him!!" I yell.

Before the bully could say anything o start talking again. " Using a knife or even a fake one against someone could be considered a crime. I can call the police and you arrested for threatening him with a deadly weapon. Unless you leave right now and don't attack him again. I got this entire thing on tape. " I snap.

Fear crosses their faces and they all nod furiously before back up and taking off running.

I then heard a whimper of pain and I look behind me. Rory is sitting up. He has tears of pain rolling down his face and there is blood as well.

I open my locker and grab my first aid kit. I rush back to him and he just sits there quietly as I tend to his wounds.

He's sniffling and shivering, but hey, I would be too in that situation. I just continue working.

" Thank you. " he finally says.

" Anytime. Those bullies needed to be put in their place anyway. " I say.

He looks at me just as I finish up. I look at him. Seconds later he's missing me and all I can say is I practically melt into the kiss.

When we break away he looks at me. " I've never believed in love at first sight until I met you. I love you Shannon. " he says.

" I love you too. " I reply instantly. He grins and kisses me again.

The two of us then decide to go on a romantic date after school. Might as well start this relationship off somewhere.

I never thought I'd meet my true love. Who knew this would happen like this. All I know is I'm glad it did.
