First persons POV of Shannon1300  

Winter is in full swing. The ground outside is coated in a thick layer of snow and the sidewalks are starting to freeze at night.

I always thought winter was gorgeous. Just looking out your window and seeing the bright light of the sun shinning of landscapes covered in white.

It's one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. Christmas just passed about four days ago.

What a joy that was, my brother Kurt was so happy when his boyfriend gave him a sweater he made himself.

It looked amazing and Kurt our it on right away. Blaine had spent every moment he could learning how to make that for him.

It was rather adorable. Right now I am sitting in my den on one of the closest winter nights. My brother and his boyfriends off to the side talking. We had four other friends over.

Rachel, Finn, Santana and Puck. Though as things went by Puck said for Christmas he wanted to start going by Noah again.

We all were happy for him and agreed right away. Tonight had been fun. We played some board games and drank hot chocolate. Kurt insisted on the mini marshmallows.

This was all after we had enjoyed a wonderful dinner prepared by Noah. I know he doesn't seem like the person who would cook, but he insisted.

Said it was his Christmas gift to us. He celebrates Hanukkah yes, but he also likes to treat us to things.

I then hear a little giggle from over in Kurt's direction. He had laughed at something Blaine said.

I smiled at that. Blaine could always get him to laugh. Finally, as the clock struck ten it was time for the other four to head home.

They were up and hugging us. " Thank you Noah for dinner. It was so good. " I say.

" Anytime. I was glad to treat you to something. " he said.

We grinned. " Well don't be shocked if I have you cook for me at my house every now and then. " says Santana.

We laugh at that. " Invite is if you do. " Says Finn.

" I agree. That was very good. " Says Rachel.

Noah was practically blushing at all this attention. We got up and hugged them before they left and were gone.

After a few minutes we hear a whimper come from Kurt. We had been watching tv.

I look over and Kurt's face had taken a small green tint. Uh oh! This can't be good.

Kurt suddenly is up and had bolted to the bathroom. We sit up fast and look at each other before running after Kurt.

We get there just in time to hear him finish throwing up. He then groaned. We look inside to see him hunched over the toilet.

He then sat back against the wall and groaned. He didn't look good at all. " Guys, I feel so sick. " shined Kurt.

Blaine got down by him and placed a hand on his forehead. " Wow Kurt. Your burning up. " says Blaine in shock.

Kurt moves closer to Blaine and tried to snuggle into his side. He was shivering. " Gosh it's freezing in here. "

" Blaine, I'll get the thermometer, you pick him up and get him settled in bed. " I say. Blaine nods and I rush off to get the thermometer.

It was in the medicine cabinet in our kitchen. I grab it and dish back to Kurt's room.

Blaine has gotten him into his pajamas and the sweated Blaine made him. I walk up and turn it on. " Open up. " I say.

He does and I stick it under his tongue. We wait for a bit before it beeps and I take it out and look. " 102.3. Dang Kurt, how long have you been feeling bad?" I ask.

" I don't know. It just sorta hit me. " says Kurt.

We nod. Blaine gets him into bed and to where Kurt is laying on his chest. I go and get him medicine.

It a liquid cold medicine. Kurt Hayes it because of the flavor, but he preferred the liquid medicine over the pill.

I walk back in and pass it to Blaine. He opens it and pours the right amount into the lid.

He offer it to Kurt only for him to refuse it. " Kurt come on, you'll feel better once you take it. " I say.

He shakes his head again. " Please, if you do I'll kiss you on the cheek. " says Blaine.

Kurt thought for a second before doing as told and taking the medicine. After that Blaine kept to what he said and kissed Kurt's cheek. " I'll stay the night tonight since your sick and I'm pretty sure I couldn't get up now even if I wanted to." Says Blaine.

I laugh and Kurt does too, only it sends him into a coughing fit. Now that I think about it, he has been coughing all night.

I should have seen the signs. " You guys stay there. I'm going to make you both some soup and some warm tea to help. " I say.

I then rush off to do that. It doesn't take me to long to make. I get back there in record time and see Kurt is still shivering and had his arms drawn in on himself as he coughed.

He was covered in a few blankets. Hopefully this will help him. I give them the food and tea.

As they eat I go grab a small trash can from on the bathroom and set it on Kurt's nightstand Incase he gets sick again.

After they are done I take their plates and cups and return them to the kitchen. I get back to see Kurt is growing sleepy and Blaine is still hugging him. He looks sleepy too.

" I'm about to sing Kurt one of his favorite songs. Would you like to join and help me with this by singing he other favorite song?" Asks Blaine.

" Sure, which songs?" I ask.

I'm not that much of a singer, but I know this is everything to my brother so I will help.

" He loves Defying Gravity and Baby It's Cold Outside. " says Blaine.

" I'll sing defying gravity and you get the other. We can mix them together. " I say.

He nods. " Just sing your song slowly and I'll chime in when it's time for my part. " says Blaine.

I nod and I take a deep breath. Then I start singing. I love this song too.

" Something has changed within me, something is not the same. "

I slow the song down and make it almost as slow as the song Blaine will be singing.

As I reach the end of my verse Blaine sings his part.

" But baby it's cold outside. "

I smile then continue. " I'm through with playing by the rules of someone else's game. "

Then he starts again. " Baby it's cold outside. "

Then we got back and forth. " Too late for second guessing. Too late to go back to sleep. "

" this evening has been so very nice. "

" it's time to trust my instincts, close my eyes and leap. "

He looks down at Kurt lovingly and tend a hand over his forehead, moving the hair that was in his eyes.

" Your eyes are like starlight now. " he sings.

" It's time to try defying gravity. I think I'll try defying gravity. " I sing slowly. Somehow these songs just melted together into an awesome mashup lullaby.

" Or waves on a tropical shore. " sang Blaine.

" Kiss me goodbye, I'm defying gravity. And you won't bring me down. Ohh."

Then we finish the last line together.

" But baby it's cold outside."

Once we're done we notice that Kurt is fast asleep. Blaine smiles and gives me a look that I know means thank you.

I stand up and cover the two of them up more. I set the medicine in the side table next to them for when he will need more.

I then kiss the two of them goodnight before finally dimming the light and leaving the two alone.

I went to my room to do what those two are doing now. I lay down on my bed after I get ready for bed and finally fall asleep.

No matter how sick you might be, family is the best medicine.
