Allan a Dale #1

(Meh, I wanted to do one for his character... Although I don't know if many people watch Robin Hood.)

You ran through Sherwood Forest, hoping desperately to get away from six of the Sheriff's guards. Earlier that morning, you had snuck into the woods to try and hunt for food for your best friend's family, as she herself wasn't very good at it. Just as you were about to release your handmade arrow on a young doe, a twig snapped. You whirled around to find the six guards sneaking up behind you.

Needless to say, you bolted.

"Stop! Thief!" Their leader cried; which only quickened your pace. You were running so fast, it seemed your feet weren't even touching down upon the ground, which was covered in the freshly dropped leaves of fall.
Suddenly, a hand reached down from a nearby tree and grabbed you waist, yanking you up and out of reach of the guards.

"Let go of me!" You tried to yell, but a strong hand covered your mouth, preventing you from speaking.

"Shh..." A man whispered in your ear, and you looked around, attempting to see who your rescuer/attacker was.

He surely wasn't a guard, that was for certain. He was dressed in a dull green tunic and brown trousers; the usual attire of an outlaw. A bow was gripped in his left hand, and a quiver of arrows was slung around his shoulder. He had brown hair, and bright blue, mischievous eyes. A scruffy beard outlined his face, and you couldn't help but find it somewhat attractive. His free hand was still wrapped around your waist, and to your dismay, your quiver of arrows lay at the base of the trunk, while your bow was clutched in your own left hand.

The guards surrounded your tree and you looked up at your now decided rescuer, mouthing "What should we do?"

He didn't reply as he strung an arrow and prepared to let it fly into a guard. You narrowed your (E/C) eyes at his lack of communication and quickly grabbed an arrow from his quiver before he could react. Pushing some of your (H/C) hair back from your face, you nocked your arrow and pulled back the string. Breathing deeply, you took aim. Exhaling, you let your arrow fly...

And it found its mark, taking the guard down. The outlaw looked surprised, but he recovered quickly and took down two more guards. You reached into his quiver and loaded your string with two arrows, aiming for the next two guards, who were standing directly beside one another.

Breathing in deeply once more, you pulled the string back. Exhaling, your arrows flew into your assailants and took them down immediately. Before either you or the man could nock another arrow, the last guard took off through the forest; escaping.

By now, the outlaw's grip on your waist had slackened, and you climbed out of the tree, stooping at its base to collect your arrows. When the man finally came out of his stupor, you were preparing to run again.

"Wait!" he called, grabbing your tunic-clad arm. Even though you were a woman, you found that hunting was easier in leggings and a tunic, rather than a dress.

"What?" You hissed, twisting and pulling in an attempt to break free from his grasp.

"You can't go. That last guard escaped. He saw your face; you won't be safe in your village again." The man's blue eyes probed your (E/C) ones, until you finally stopped resisting.

"Fine. But what would you suggest doing then? Joining Robin Hood's band?" You said sarcastically.

"Precisely." He said, and dragged you off through the forest.

You sighed as you gazed out over Sherwood Forest, atop your favorite perch; a large pile of boulders. It had been several months since you and Allan A'Dale (as you learned his name was,) had escaped the guards. At first, Robin was a bit skeptical about the whole "girl in the group" thing, but immediately warmed up once he saw your shooting abilities.

Allan had been right after all. The guard had told the Sheriff all about you, and now your face was plastered on every wanted sign in Nottingham. Your home was no longer safe for you, but you didn't miss it; you had no family left there, since you were an only child and your parents had passed away during an influenza epidemic earlier that year. You were happy to join the crew; even if it meant putting your life in danger. Winter had passed during your time with the gang, and spring was in the air, brining with it a sense of new beginnings and new hope for you.

"(Y/N)?" A soft voice said from behind you. You quickly turned your head and stood up from your perch on the rocky outcropping to smile at Allan.

"Yes?" you asked.

"Would you come on a walk with me? Just through the woods and down to the stream, it won't take long." Allan said, his words coming out in a rush.

You smiled and touched his hand lightly. "I'd love to."

Allan smiled, and the two if you walked off in silence, listening to the birds chirping happily in the budding trees. After several minutes, when the two of you were in sight of the stream, Allan stopped, turned you around to face him, and looked into your (E/C) eyes.

"(Y/N)," he started, but his words seemed to catch in his throat. "(Y/N), I... I..." He looked down at the ground, one hand still clasping yours.

You reached over with your free hand and tilted his face up so that he was looking at you. "Yes Allan?" You whispered.

Allan gulped, and suddenly did something you had not expected. He caressed your cheek softly, leaned forward, and kissed you gently. Frozen by shock, you didn't move. Taking this as a bad sign, Allan pulled away, tears forming in his eyes. "I... I'm so sorry (Y/N), I don't know what I was thinking. It's just that, I've liked you ever since that day when you were chased by the guards, and now that I've gotten to know you, I think that... I think that I love you."

As if jarred out of a trance, you gazed into his beautiful blue eyes that were brimming with sorrowful tears. "You fool," you whispered, leaning forward and capturing his lips in a tender kiss that he melted into almost immediately. When you pulled away, Allan's tears had begun to spill over, streaming down his face. You wiped them gently away and whispered "I love you too."

Now Allan's tears were tears of joy as a grin spread across his face and the mischievous twinkle returned. He bent down on one knee and stared up at you, one of your hands still clasped in his.

"(Y/N) of (Y/V)*, will you do me the absolute pleasure of being my wife?"

You looked down into his eyes and saw nothing but joy and hopefulness. A large smile grew across your face as you knelt down to his level.

"You know I will." you said happily, and he kissed you passionately as the sun sank below the treetops.

A/N

*(Y/V) = Your Village

Okay so I know this chapter is really fluffy and it didn't go along with my original plot line, but when I write, anything can happen. I kinda start out with a plot, but then my characters get a mind of their own and do something stupid, like get married :P.

Anyways, I hoped you liked it!
