Dani x Elyan
"Liv?" Dani called from outside Liv's room.
"Yes Dani?" Liv called back.
"Sir Gwaine is here to take you on that date." Dani said, and Liv opened the door. Sir Gwaine and Liv has recently started dating, and this was their third date this week,
"Thanks Dani. By the time I get back, I'd like my bed made, clothes washed-"
Dani tuned Liv out because she didn't want to be reminded of the chores she had coming. "Have fun Liv." Dani said, half-heartedly.
Dani closed the door behind Liv and groaned. Being Liv's personal servant kinda sucked.
Grumbling to herself the whole time, she went up the stairs and started cleaning Liv's room as she heard Olive yelling in agony.
That made cleaning slightly easier.
She went to organize Liv's bookshelf, because even though Liv loved all of her books, they fell over time to time.
Dani picked up a book called 'My ship' and Dani assumed it meant someone's craft designed for water travel.
However, while dusting it, she accidentally gave herself a paper cut (don't ask, Dani's a clumsy person) and dropped the book.
"Shit." She muttered as blood trickled out of her fingers.
"Language!" Jade yelled. "How the heck did you even hear that?" Dani yelled back.
"I hear all and know all!" Jade shouted.
Dani groaned and quickly made sure no one was around. She quickly muttered a healing spell under her breath and the paper cut was gone, as if it never existed.
Surprise. Dani has magic.
It's really not very strong magic. Healing is her main thing, but she can move objects around as well.
Anything else though, she can't do. Plus, she didn't get to use her powers to fight often.
Liv really didn't need saving.
She's a fucking Lady.
As Dani crouched to pick up the book, she noticed something odd.
What was a Danelyan?
Didn't sound like a boat to her.
Curious to see what it was, she picked up the book and started reading.
Danelyan
Chapter 16
After the attackers had fled and Dani stared into her heroes's beautiful brown eyes as he took her hand and lifted her off the cold ground.
She knew those eyes. It was her one true love, Sir Elyan of Camelot.
"Nope!" Dani yelped and slammed the book shut.
"Danelyan is a mix of Dani and Elyan? Well that's just weird." She said to herself.
She placed the book back on the shelf before realizing something.
"Oh crap. That's a published book. Like, anyone could oWN IT." Dani started freaking out.
"Wonder if Elyan knows?" Dani asked herself and blushed awkwardly.
"Wait no this is bAD." Dani paced back and forth, trying to make a plan that didn't involve total humiliation.
She finally decided on a plan. Find the author and murder them.
Dani took the book back off the shelf and checked for the writer.
It was Liv Stoll.
Never mind, murder was off the list. For now.
Okay, new plan.
Find out how much of Camelot knew about this book to see how much humiliation she'd gain.
Dressed in her own black cloak, Dani headed into the bookstore, and upon arrival, tried to find 'Ships' by Liv Stoll. She didn't want to ask for help, for fear of being recognized as one of the characters in the book.
When she finally found it, she was horrified how many copies there were. Even more horrified when Sir fucking Leon walked past her, grabbed one of the books off the shelf and headed to the seller.
Dani sneakily followed and eavesdropped.
"Leon. This is the fifth time you've bought this book." The woman at the counter said.
"I know. But Elyan would know something's off if anyone other than I went to the store. And Percival's lost his copy." Leon replied, laughing.
"He wouldn't be the first." The woman mused, "lots of people have lost their copies. That Liv is a real talented writer."
"Indeed. Truly, I'm just surprised Dani and Elyan haven't found out yet." Leon laughed and headed out.
Dani took multiple deep breaths to stop her from destroying every single copying in this book store.
"Excuse me," Dani headed to the woman at the counter, "I'm a traveler from outside of Camelot, but I've heard so much about this one book. My ship? I think it was called." Dani lied.
One good thing about being Liv's servant is that you learn how to lie real quick and really good.
"Oh I'll show you where it is," The woman said happily. She handed Dani a copy and Dani took it, but mentally she was screeching.
"So how many people own this book?" Dani asked, trying to seem uninterested as she 'admired' the cover.
"Why, nearly everyone in Camelot! Including the Knights themselves, and I know for a fact even King Arther and Queen Guinevere own a copy." The woman said proudly.
"Impressive." Dani gave a forced grin. "I'll buy it." She said, making the mental note to burn it as soon as possible.
"Liv!" Dani yelled into the house as she got back from the store.
"Yes Dani?" Liv called from her room.
Ideally, Dani would've loved to kick down the door and throw the book in Liv's face and make her choke on it, but alas that would most likely get her fired and never find a job again. And probably arrested.
So instead she aggressively opened the door and threw the book at Liv.
"Care to explain?" Dani yelled.
"Not really." Liv shrugged before noticing the book title.
'Shit, she knows.' Liv thought.
"You made a frigging book about me and some knight?"
"Yeah."
"I'm taking the day off." Dani declared.
"But I didn't say you could."
"I'm taKING THE DAY OFF." Dani repeated loudly as she left, slamming the door shut.
Liv sat in the chair a few seconds longer before jumping out the window and getting Hermes from the stables.
She needed to tell her colleagues that Dani knew.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Guys, Dani knows!" Liv burst into the knights room loudly.
"Knows what?" Leon asked.
"The bOOK."
"Oh god shES GOING TO TELL ELYAN." Gwaine screeched, then realization sank into the room.
Everyone in the room exchanged looks.
"We can't miss this!" They all screamed loudly and ran off to find Elyan and Dani.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dani found Elyan training with some other knights that she didn't recognize.
"Excuse me, Sir Elyan. I need to speak with you." Dani called. Elyan nodded and put his sword away, but of course it can nEVER BE THAT EASY CAN IT?
"Elyan, you can't just leave, we're training." One of the knights protested.
"It's urgent." Dani pressed.
"If it's so important, fight me and beat me to take him." He laughed, and the other knights, not counting Elyan, laughed too.
"Fine. Can I have a sword then?" Dani asked, not missing a beat and really glad she'd worn pants today.
The knights stared at her and laughed. "You challenge a knight?" The same knight laughed.
"Back off. Clearly she needs to speak with me." Elyan said, impatiently.
"No, she accepted my challenge. She'll face me," the knight mused.
"I'm fine with that." Dani said as she picked up a sword. A little heavier than she would've liked, but it'll do.
Liv had taught Dani almost everything the knights knew, because she'd spied on her brothers practicing and improved the tactics and passed it to Dani.
Dani held her sword as the knight sloppily lunged for an attack. Dani sidestepped away from him and smacked the hilt of her sword on the back of his head.
He groaned and whirled around to face her. He swung his sword and Dani, temporarily glad she was short, dropped down into a crouch and swung her right leg as hard as she could into the back of his knees.
He yelled and collapsed and Dani swiftly got back on her feet and pointed her sword at his throat.
"I'll be taking Sir Elyan now," Dani said dismissively, and walked away, putting the sword back on the rack.
Everyone was awe struck as the blonde dragged Elyan away from the knights.
"That was great." Elyan complimented, making Dani blush lightly.
"Thank you," she replied.
"Now, are you aware that basically all of Camelot wants us to date?" She added.
"What?" He spewed and Dani explained the situation.
Both of them were unaware of Liv, Leon, Perceval, Gwaine, Arther, Gwen, and even Merlin crouching behind a huge green bush.
"Well might as well give the people what they want," Elyan shrugged, and before Dani could ask what he meant, Elyan kissed her.
Gwaine squealed, and Liv swiftly punched him in the face, knocking him out cold.
Everyone gave her questioning looks. "He's not ruining this for me," she said darkly.
Dani was as red as a tomato when Elyan pulled away.
"I've liked you for a while Dani." Elyan blushed lightly.
"S-so have I." She confessed, stuttering.
Elyan grinned and pulled her in for a second kiss.
"It's about freaking time!" A voice called and everyone stared at Olive Smith as she ruined the moment.
"Olive!" Dani yelled at the same time as Liv shot out of the bush yelling "Olive."
Dani turned and looked at Liv, confused. "Liv?"
Everyone else stood up.
"Good going Elyan," Gwaine gave a thumbs up, ignoring how dizzy he was.
"You were watching?" Dani and Elyan said in unison.
"Uh, yeah." Merlin answered.
Elyan took out his sword and handed his spare to Dani. Everyone realized they'd left their weapons in their chambers. Except Liv, but she didn't want to attack her OTP.
"Run!" Arther yelled and everyone ran from the new couple, Elyan and Dani.
