Characters: Tamaki, Reader
Requested by: allie_laurens4
Thank you so much for the request! Sorry it took so long, but college is a little more demanding than what I originally thought. I hope you enjoy!

I watch this city burn
These dreams like ashes float away
Your voice I never heard, only silence
Where were you when our hearts were bleeding?
Where were you? It all crashed down
I never thought that you'd deceive me
Where are you now?
"Y/N!" Tamaki exclaimed, reaching his hand out as he saw you fall off the roof, a look of pure sadness matched with a small smile.
"I'm sorry, Tamaki." you said, tears trailing down your flushed cheeks.
Tamaki rushed to the side of the roof, peering over the edge as he saw your body hit the ground with a soft thud. A hand flew over his mouth as he stumbled back, almost falling to his knees.
'No... Y/N...'
Echos of footsteps stopped behind Tamaki as the rest of the Host Club caught up to him.
"Tamaki... where's Y/N?" Haruhi asked gently, stepping in front of her senpai only to see him in tears.
"She... she..." Tamaki gasped, bursting into sobs. Haruhi's eyes widened as she pulled Tamaki into a hug, suffocating his sobs with her shoulder.
"I'm so sorry..." Haruhi murmured, comforting the broken man.
"She told me she was okay... she told me everything was okay..." Tamaki sobbed. "I wanted to believe the worse was behind us."
The rest of the club stood and watched their king break, trying to contain their own emotions. The only one who moved was Kyoya, who took out his phone and made a few calls.
"I should've realized it sooner... all the signs were there..." Tamaki sobbed.
(How long) can you stand the pain?
(How long) how long will you hide your face?
(How long) how long will you be afraid?
Are you afraid?
(How long) will you play this game?
(How long) will you fight or will you walk away?
(How long) how long will you let it burn?
Let it burn, let it burn
"Signs? What signs?" Haruhi asked.
"She didn't come to club anymore; she avoided me like she was playing hard to get. It was like... it was like she was afraid of me." Tamaki hiccupped as Haruhi helped him stand.
"Tamaki, we can talk more about this soon, okay? Right now, the police need you to identify the body and fill in some details." Haruhi said as she and Kyoya almost carried Tamaki down the stairs and back to the grounds.

The funeral was a few weeks later. Y/N's parents had disowned her when she and Tamaki got together, so Tamaki's grandmother, who adored Y/N, planed the funeral. She would be buried in the Suoh family plot in Japan, and given a stone memorial in the France plot. Tamaki had flown over the entire club on his private plane; the entire trip unlike any other Host Club adventure.
"Senpai, may I ask you a question?" Haruhi asked Tamaki as they sat at the fake bar.
Tamaki nodded, looking at her.
"Why aren't we dressed in black?"
I watch this city burn
These passions slowly smoldering
A lesson never learned, only violence
Is your world just a broken promise?
Is your love just a drop of rain?
Will we all just burn like fire?
Are you still there?
Tell me now!
Unlike a normal funeral, all the guests would be dressed in formal attire, but not limited to black. Tamaki himself, along with the rest of the club, wore suits in the colors of their flowers- dark blue for Mori, pink for Honey, orange for Karou, light blue for Hikaru, red for Haruhi, white for Tamaki, and purple for Kyoya. What linked them, however, was the small black rose nestled in the breast pocket of their suits.
"It was her final wish. When..." He covered his mouth, choking back a sob before continuing.
"Take your time Tamaki." Mori mused as he pat the king on the back, placing a tissue box next to him before continuing on his way.
"When they finished with Y/N's body, they found a flash drive in her pocket. A lot of the items on that flash drive are for her funeral, or specific people, but the only thing they were able to read was her... funeral requests."
The video she left for Tamaki practically destroyed him. He watched those precious five minutes over and over again the previous night, refusing to sleep as her final words echoed in his brain.
"Don't blame yourself, Tamaki. This isn't your fault; it's no ones. No matter what, my life is going to end sooner than either of us would wish. I would rather have control over my own demise than watch you break into a steady stream of madness at my expense." Y/N looked into the camera as Tamaki watched his laptop.
"Remember, Tamaki, my love for you is just a drop of rain in the ocean of your life. I want you to be happy, even if I can't be the one to make you happy."
The conversation ended as the plane ended, and the hosts were whisked away to the funeral. It was a small affair, but that's exactly how Y/N wanted it.
'I just want the people closest to me there, to say their final goodbyes. Spend the week in France, please, and remember me when you think of that beautiful place.' Y/N had written, along with many things to do in France.
Tamaki tried not to cry as he let his mind wander for the fifth time that day.
'Was she in pain the entire time? She said three weeks ago that the doctors cleared her..."
After the funeral, Tamaki made his way up to the roof of their favorite café, Cafe des mortes, and stared out over the city. The lights had dimmed, with dark storm clouds looming close over the people. In the middle of the darkness, lightning flashed, illuminating the dark sky and starting a small fire in a nearby park.
Tamaki watched the fire, flames dancing in his mind and in his heart as he began to scream, sobbing into the storm that rained around him.
"Will you wait till it all burns down?
Will you wait till it all burns down?
Will you wait till it all burns down?
Will you fight when it all burns down?
Will you stand when it all burns down?
Will you love when it all burns down?
Will it end when it all burns down?
Will you just let it all burn down?"
"WHY DID YOU WAIT? WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME? DID OUR LOVE MEAN NOTHING TO YOU? COME BACK TO ME, Y/N, PLEASE!" Tamaki exclaimed, falling to his knees as he started straight up into the sky, raising his fists in furry.
At that moment, lightning struck twice, hitting the café and Tamaki. The café burned to the ground, leaving Tamaki still a shell of his formal self, complete with a streak of white in his blonde hair, right across his eyes.
After spending some time in the hospital, Tamaki disappeared temporarily, marrying a woman who looked just like Y/N and starting a family. But, in their wedding pictures, anyone who looked close enough could see the faint lines of a tattoo along Tamaki's wrist.
The tattoo? Sleak, black, elegant cursive. The word? Y/N.
Let it burn, let it burn
Let it burn
