Take me down to the river bend

Take me down to the fighting end

Wash the poison from off my skin

Show me how to be whole again

Being in Slytherin house was hard for anyone who wasn't evil, cunning, or just down right mean. And for Zoe Harrison, fourth year in this house was probably the hardest one she ever went though. But just because she had a hard time around her fellow house mates, didn't mean that would stop her from being a good friend.

"Get away from Luna, Draco." Zoe said, standing in front of her friend as Draco Malfoy, a fellow fourth year Slytherin bullied her for the fifth time that day. Zoe wasn't a stranger to Draco and his tricks, for he was her bully as well.

"Sod off Zoe, this is none of your business." Draco spat, glaring into her eyes like he was trying to set fire to her soul.

"No, I'm sick and tired of you bullying my friend!" Zoe said, standing her ground, knees slightly shaking.

Draco growled, not so lightly shoving Zoe away as Luna, unknown to both of them, left. Draco looked around for his target and sighed, knowing she got away. He looked at Zoe as she picked herself back up before walking away.

Zoe stood up, dusting her robes off slowly while she tried not to cry. It wasn't like the shove hurt, Draco had the strength of a ghost. It was more or less the fact that she didn't know why he was this cruel. Not knowing why made her curious, a kind of curious that could only be tamed by investigation.

Fly me up on a silver wing

Past the black where the sirens sing

Warm me up in a nova's glow

And drop me down to the dream below

Later that day, after lunch, Draco turned the opposite way of the dungeons, where the Slytherins had double potions with Snape. Zoe caught sight of this, pausing in the middle of the hallway.

"What's he up too...?" Zoe asked herself softly, feet immediately taking off in his direction. She followed him up to the third floor and watched as he entered an empty classroom. Zoe stood outside the cracked door, listening in to what Draco was saying.

"...pants I'm so stupid. Why did I do that? I could've really hurt her, and pissed off Loony Luna. She's the only one I can ask for advice about her..."

"Draco?"

Zoe stepped into the classroom, closing the door completely behind her. Draco turned around, his back facing her.

"What do you want Zoe?"

"I have a couple of question for you. First, why are you bullying Luna? Wasn't tormenting your own house enough? Two, what the hell did I ever do to make you hate me, huh? Out of the four years we've known each other, what did I ever do or say to make you hate me? Three-"

Draco got up, pushing her to the wall, one arm next to her head as looked down at her.

"And why would you care to know?"

'Cause I'm only a crack in this castle of glass

Hardly anything there for you to see

For you to see

"Stop playing with the subject Draco." Zoe hissed.

"What are you gonna do about it?" Draco smirked, his blue eyes gazing over her before meeting with her hazel ones.

Zoe took a deep breath, grabbing the collar of his shirt and pulling herself up to his level, locking lips with him. Draco stepped back, shocked, breaking the kiss. Zoe took a few breaths, looking up at him, scared.

"What the hell was that?" Draco asked, startled.

Bring me home in a blinding dream,

Through the secrets that I have seen

Wash the sorrow from off my skin

And show me how to be whole again

"I want information Draco, and I don't care what I have to-"

Zoe was cut off by another kiss, this one started by Draco, his hands around her waist. Zoe's eyes widened before slowly closing, lost in the bliss of the moment.

"Merlin's beard... I'm kissing Draco Malfoy." She thought to herself. "And... I'm enjoying it. This is crazy, and yet... it feels really nice."

After a minute, Draco forced himself away from her. "I'm sorry."

Zoe looked up at him. "What?"

"I'm sorry, for bullying you. I just... I'm not good with my feelings and... shit... and I don't..." Draco sighed. "And I wasn't bullying Loony Luna. I've been asking her for advice."

"Advice? About what?" Zoe asked, confused.

"About... how to ask you out on a date." Draco said, playing with a strand of her golden brown hair, twirling the long strand around his finger.

'Cause I'm only a crack in this castle of glass

Hardly anything there for you to see

For you to see

"What? What do you mean?" Zoe asked, still confused. The great Draco Malfoy couldn't have a crush on her; that was impossible. And yet, right there in front of her, stood Draco Malfoy, spilling his heart out to her.

"I like you Zoe. A lot. More than I should. And I can't get you out of my head, no matter how hard I try. There's just something about you that draws me in."

"I guess it's because, in a way, we're like glass castles with tiny cracks in them. We may seem one way, but we only expose those cracks to each other, and end up a different way." Zoe said.

'Cause I'm only a crack in this castle of glass

Hardly anything else I need to be

"So will you... go out with me? On a date? We could do it in Hogsmeade, and I'll take you to whatever shop you want before the next match for the tournament and-"

Zoe cut the boy off with another kiss. "Fine, I'll give it a shot. But you, sir, have a lot of making up to do for your past actions."

Draco pulled her close, resting his forehead against hers. "If that's what it takes. I would hold up the weight of the world for you, my dear."

'Cause I'm only a crack in this castle of glass

Hardly anything there for you to see

For you to see

BONUS

After their romantic moment, Zoe and Draco, hand in hand, went to exit the classroom. Zoe tugged on the door, however, and found it wouldn't budge.

"I think it's locked, and not just a lock you can open with a simple spell." Draco said.

"So we're trapped in here? Forever?"

Not necessarily." Draco said, opening the side window. He muttered a spell under his breath, and within a minute, his quidditch broom appeared. He mounted the broom before turning to Zoe. "Come on."

Zoe took his hand, climbing behind him on the broom, hands wrapped around his waist before taking off, flying through the window, into the air, and into Professor Dumbledoor's office.

"Why here?" Draco asked as they dismounted and he sent his broom back.

"Because we need an excuse as to why we missed Potions, and besides, Dumbledoor said if I ever needed anything to just ask.

"Right you are, Ms. Harrison. I suppose you got locked in one of the old classrooms again?"

"Again? It's happened before?" Draco asked.

Zoe blushed in embarrassment before taking the slip of paper in Dumbledoor's hand. "We don't talk about that!"

Draco and Dumbledoor laughed as she exited the room in a hurry. Draco grabbed his things and took off after her, leaving Dumbledoor by himself.

"Ah young love, so precious and sweet to watch bloom. Now, I just need to get Spired to sail, and then all my ships will be complete." He walked over to a small bookshelf filled with ships in bottles. He took out his wand and, to the second biggest ship, scribbled Draco x Zoe = Zaco or Droe, followed by the date. He then walked over to the biggest ship, and with a flick of his wand, scribbled on one more paring: Fred x Spirit = Spired or Frit
