Background:
Asella was born to Victor and Laura Jacobs in the southside of Riverdale. While her father promised to turn his life around, which meant leaving the Serpents for his wife (to give his family a fresh start), Victor failed. So his wife walked out on him, leaving the man alone to take care of Asella. She grew up fine with her father, uncle, and cousin around. Asella became good friends with Jughead, slightly understanding why he preferred to keep his southside blood hidden from his friends in the northside. Nonetheless, Asella kept to the southside, occasionally hanging out with Jughead, Betty, Archie, and Veronica. She attended Southside High up until it was closed down, and she was forced to attend school with Jughead and his friends.
