Tommy Shelby- Tree (h)
Peaky Blinders One Shot
When you'd first met the Shelby's, you hadn't expected them to celebrate Christmas, not really anyway.
You knew they'd try and do something for the young ones, but you'd figured that it would only be to that extent, the Shelby family didn't seem like a family that would go for the whole Christmas cheer kind of thing.
And this year you were going to find out.
When you'd come into the picture people weren't sure how long you and Tommy would last.
He wasn't known for his welcoming charm but somehow, you'd gotten under his skin, made him look forward to the future again.
The two of you had been together for almost a year – your anniversary being only a few days after Christmas – and Tommy had somehow convinced you to spend Christmas with him at Arrow House.
You weren't quite moved in yet but if Tommy had it his way you wouldn't be leaving after Christmas.
He had told you to pack enough for a few days as Tommy had insisted on you being with him for the days leading up to Christmas.
"Mum?" you called throughout your house, not being able to find one of the presents you had bought and wrapped for Ada's boy.
Your mother came into your room, a small gold parcel in her hand. "This what you wanted? You left it downstairs."
Smiling you took it from her. "You're sure you and Dad are okay spending Christmas by yourselves? I can call Tommy and tell him-"
Your mother cut you off as she shook her head. "We'll be fine dear," she told you gently. "Go and spend time with the Shelby's, god knows you'll be one before long."
Her words made you blush, but you couldn't deny the fact that you'd thought about it. And your mother knew that a certain Shelby had too, if the conversation he'd had with your father a number of days ago was anything to go by.
Within a few more minutes your things were packed and there was a knock at the door.
You heard your father answer the door as you headed downstairs with your suitcase.
"Thank you for letting Y/N spend Christmas with me Mr Y/L/N, I'd like you to know that it's greatly appreciated," you heard Tommy talking as you got to the bottom of the stairs.
His voice alone sent butterflies to your stomach.
A small smile graced Tommy's face as he saw you, taking your case from you when you reached the door.
With goodbyes said to your parents you got into Tommy's car and the drive back to Arrow House started.
One of Tommy's hands moved to rest on your thigh, so you placed yours on top, holding his hand gently.
"So, you do celebrate Christmas?" you questioned out of curiosity.
Tommy chuckled and looked to you momentarily. "For the young ones, yes."
"So, there will be a tree?" at that Tommy looked at you as if you'd gone crazy.
"Of course, we have a tree angel," he answered you with a smirk. "We're not complete savages."
Laughing, you squeezed his hand. "Of course, not love, just a gang with razor blades."
He chuckled along with you, squeezing your thigh right back which sent the butterflies raging again.
The rest of the drive passed quickly – the two of you just chatting and enjoying each other's company.
Soon enough Tommy pulled the car into the long driveway of Arrow House, but it didn't look like it normally did.
"Tommy?"
Chuckling he squeezed your thigh again. "I told you we celebrated angel."
The view you were faced with looked as if Tommy had pulled out all of the stops.
There were wreaths and garlands all over the front of the house, he'd even had some extra lamps placed around the gardens to light up the place.
Tommy was watching your reaction out of the corner of his eye. He knew how much you loved the holidays and he wanted you to enjoy this one with him, after all he wanted there to be many more.
He stopped the car and got out before making his way over to your side to let you out, letting the staff take care of your bags in the car – they knew where to take them.
"You did all this?" you asked as you motioned to your surroundings.
Tommy nodded, wrapping his arm around your waist to pull you close to his side. "Not just this."
He led you inside and you were utterly stunned at what was standing in front of you. "Jesus Christ that tree is bigger than my future."
Tommy couldn't help but laugh at your choice of words concerning the tree he had found to be put in the entryway – he had to admit it was a pretty big tree.
You were pulled out of your shock by Tommy gently squeezing your waist.
"Well your future is with the Shelby's angel so it's going to be pretty fucking big."
