Noah Foster- Drown: Part 2 (c)

Scream One Shot

You didn't know why you agreed to go to Brooke's party but now you certainly regretted your decision to go there. There were too many people, too loud music and no one you really enjoyed the company of. Needing a break from the fake smiles and strong stench of alcohol, you wondered off down to the lake to try and get a breath of fresh air, but no peace could be found. You peered across the dark water, but it wasn't steady, and concern filled you. In the centre you saw arms trying to reach up above the water, struggling to keep themselves and the rest of their body at the surface.

It wouldn't have surprised you if someone went swimming but this wasn't a happy person, they weren't going to survive in the cold lake water and they either didn't know how to swim or were too far in a panic for anything good to happen.

"Someone help!" You screamed behind you, kicking off your shoes.

You noticed some people turn their heads towards you to see what was happening and hoped they would come to help you out. Realising you didn't have any time to waste, you begun to wade into the water before diving under the surface to swim towards the flailing person. The cold was beyond bitter and you could feel yourself already start to struggle to cope in such a low temperature, but you weren't going to give up on whomever was drowning.

When you reached the centre of the lake, you breached the surface to see if you could see them, but they were gone. Diving down you tried to peer through the darkness but as soon as one of your arms touched something, you grabbed hold of it and pulled as hard as you could to bring both of you to the air.

Luckily it was the boy who was about your age. He gasped for air as you helped pull him to the shore that was now filled with people watching what was going on. Once your feet could touch the floor, you helped him stand up and supported him out onto the shore where your friend Emma stood with two towels.

"Thanks," you coughed, having swallowed a bit too much lake water.

You wrapped one around his shoulders, taking the second for yourself but kept supporting the person you saved.

"Y/N," Brooke said, gaining your attention. "You know where my room is, help yourself to some clothes and there should be something for him in the bottom drawer."

You nodded your head but couldn't thank her due to your attention being stolen by the laughing Jake.

"What the fuck did you do?" You hissed at the idiot that you had spent too much time around.

"It was meant to be a joke," he smirked.

"He could have drowned."

There was no point in arguing with someone with such a low IQ, instead you let your fist collide with his stomach, letting the air escape him before you headed back to assist the boy you saved. You wrapped an arm around his towel covered shoulders, helping him walk up towards the house, ignoring the crowds around you.
