Max Black- Seven Hundred (c)
2 Broke Girls One Shot
"Fuck," you heard from the kitchen.
You were used to hearing Max swear about pretty much everything, so you didn't feel much of a rush when you decided to inspect what was going on. It was peculiar to be woken up by hearing your girlfriend in the kitchen at three in the morning but sometimes you felt like you needed to check on her and see how whatever she was doing was going.
When you entered the kitchen, you were shocked by the scene in front of you. Every visible counter space in the kitchen was covered in red and green frosted cupcakes along with several boxes stacked high against the counter, likely filled with similar looking items.
"How many cupcakes have you made?" You questioned, letting out a yawn.
"About four hundred but I have three hundred more than I need to finish by nine when they are being collected," she frowned, wiping flour from her brow.
"Why the hell did you accept an order for seven hundred cupcakes for the following day?" You asked.
She shrugged her shoulders. "Christmas is my busiest season and we very much need the money. Although I think I have drunk most of the profit in coffee."
You knew that Max loved baking cupcakes and did everything she could to expand her business but sometimes she made terrible decisions and as a loyal girlfriend, you were going to support those decisions and put yourself in the discomfort too.
"How can I help?" You asked.
Max took a second, looking over the hectic mess of the kitchen that seemed unworkable.
"Put on a new pot of coffee, start boxing up this lot then pour the pot of coffee down my throat and we'll see where we are then," she said quicker than she would have normally spoken.
"Aye aye," you said, raising a hand to your forehead to salute to her.
You begun to do as you were told, heading over to start to make a new pot of coffee to help the two of you get through the rest of the morning hours until someone arrived to take the cupcakes off of your hands.
"Who the hell wants seven hundred cupcakes for a Christmas party?" Max grumbled. "Like I don't care because they're paying our bills and my caffeine addiction, but no normal person can ever want that many peppermint and gingerbread cupcakes that look like an elf threw up on."
You offered her a gentle smile. "It must be a big party, but whatever these crazy people want with so many cupcakes, at least they're paying you well."
"They better be, I wouldn't be doing this otherwise."
