Kelly Bailey- Crisps (a)
Misfits One Shot
Each few seconds the little ariel topped television that sat in the centre of Kelly's drawers flipped to another channel as you and Kelly both quickly lost interest.
"Jeremy Kyle?" You asked as the small in stature but large eared man stood proudly in the middle of his stage.
"Nah." Kelly sighed. "I know too many people that have been on that fucking show and seeing their faces just pisses me off. Maybe we should lie about some mad drama between us. Like you cheated on me with my mom or something and then we had to raise the baby. Yeah, we would probably be spat on or whatever but at least we would get some money from it. Maybe then we could actually buy some food for this dump." She stared longingly at the empty packets of salt and vinegar McCoy's that decorated her windowsill as if she would sell a life's worth of time just for one last crisp. "Why do you have to get paid monthly... knobhead." She threw her head back and turned off the television with a determined finger. "Literally the only thing we have to eat is bread, and if I eat anymore fucking toast I'm not going to be able to shit for a week."
"Get dressed then." You pulled yourself from the warm comforts of the bed and ran your fingers through your hair. "Come on." She sat unwavering.
"You don't need me to go to the shop with you... you're not a child." She reached into her bedside drawer and threw what little change she could find at you from across the room. "Get me some crisps or something, whatever is cheap."
"I was thinking something more along the lines of me and you, walk into town and find somewhere we can sit down and eat... something a bit more substantial than toast and off brand pot noodles?" The thought of food quickly grabbed Kelly's attention.
"And what are you going to pay for it with? I don't think Pizza Hut accepts roaches and sandwich crusts." You threw Kelly a sarcastic smirk.
"We'll stop by my moms, she's got some birthday money of mine."
"It was your birthday in June... it's December... dickhead."
"She's been holding onto it for me. Long story short I didn't really want to go round unless I needed to." Kelly quickly threw on whatever clothes she could find from the scatterings of dirty and clean washing that adorned her floor.
"I don't care where we go, can we just go quickly please."
