The Haunting of Bly Manor One Shot

Since you had started working at Bly Manor, you had experienced things that you never had before. It didn't seem a normal place and sometimes you feared what may lurk within the walls but the warmth of the people around you made you capable of living there without as much concern. Every day just became weirder though. At first it was just creepy old building things or scared children wanting to make fun of the grownups around them but now you begun waking up in places you certainly didn't go to sleep in.

Sometimes it was waking up in the hallway outside of your room, or in one of the many other rooms but a couple of times it was out on the grounds of the manor house. Last night was the worst though. You didn't even wake yourself up. You were woken up by Dani, the au pair who found on slumped over on the doorstep. The bed clothes you put on the night before were still upon you but now they were clung to your skin due to how soaked you had become.

You had no recollection of how you ended up soaked but seen as you stunk of old lake water, you assumed you must have been in the lake at some point. Dani ushered you up to your room although you were a bit disorientated, not sure why you kept sleep walking or how you managed to get in and out of the lake without accidentally drowning yourself.

"Let's get you showered and changed," she smiled softly.

When you started working at Bly Manor, you felt like you would have an escape from the world, working with only a handful of people and rarely leaving the manor house but little did you know that you would find love there too. Dani started working there a few months after you and it was hard to not fall for her. You were both troubled young women but together everything felt safe.

"I don't know what happened," you whispered, trying your best to not cry.

"Weird things do seem to happen here," she shrugged, getting out some clothes for you to change into along with new towels to dry yourself after your shower.

"Why would I go into the lake?" You questioned.

Dani shrugged her shoulders.

"Maybe we will never know what makes everyone sleepwalk but at least you're safe. For now, all we need to do is get you clean and dry."

You couldn't help but start rambling about not knowing how you ended up in the lake. None of your words made a lot of sense but they only became worse as you shivered in your lake sodden clothing.

Dani stopped your rambles by touching your arm and talking herself. "No offence Y/N but shut up and take your clothes off."

You let that distract you from your confusion and racing mind and allowed Dani to help you peel the soaked clothing from your skin. She helped you shower and get dressed and made sure to stay by your side until you felt comfortable to get to work and do what you needed before another night would come around.
