Peaky Blinders One Shot

You'd not been around the Shelby's all that much, but it didn't take a genius to figure out that they were quite the fiery family.

They protected their own to no end and you'd been accepted as their own, which was both comforting and terrifying.

Even the females were terrifying – Ada was definitely a force to be reckoned with.

You'd headed to the Garrison to see Tommy initially but when you'd gotten there Ada and Polly were there too.

"Hello ladies," you greeted them as you walked in.

They both smiled at you as you moved to kiss them both on the cheek before going to greet Tommy, kissing him gently but he pulled you down to sit on his lap.

You got comfortable with Tommy but then turned to Ada. "So, how's the boy?"

She smiled at you. "He's a sweetheart, he's with Arthur's boys at the moment – I'll be going to get him after Tommy has apologised."

Your brow then furrowed in confusion – granted Ada and Tommy did argue a fair bit but you weren't aware of anything recent that had happened.

Tommy took a sip of his drink but stayed quiet.

"What did he do?" you questioned with a sigh, playing with Tommy's hair at the nape of his neck.

"Where do I bloody start?" she stared right at Tommy as she spoke. "First, he gets the boys to follow me all night, next he gets them to report back to them with who I'd been with for the night and then he sends the boys to bloody escort me back the next morning!"

Tommy didn't say a word again as he took another sip of his drink. "We all know Tommy doesn't do apologies."

Your boyfriend chuckled, squeezing your hip. "It was just a precaution Ada."

Ada scoffed, glaring at her brother. "Last I checked you weren't in charge of me."

And with that she got up and stormed out of the Garrison. You looked to Polly who motioned for you to go and talk to her.

You got off of Tommy's lap, but not before a kiss, and went outside to find your soon to be sister in law.

"Ada?" you called out when you got onto the street and you saw her leaning against the wall, taking a drag.

She turned to acknowledge you but that's all you got.

"You know your brother is an arse," you stated as you lit up your own cigarette. "But in his own strange way he wants to look out for you."

Ada rolled her eyes. "You don't need to explain him to me Y/N," she told you as she stared out to the distance. "I just wish he'd stop treating me like a bloody child."

"Better a child than made of glass," you muttered.

"Does it to you too huh?"

Nodding, you took a drag of your cigarette. "Doesn't let me do a damn thing with the Blinders, more of a trophy to him than anything else."

Ada shook her head as she realised how wrong you were. "No Y/N it's not like that," she stubbed her cigarette out on the ground as she spoke. "Tommy, he means well, he loves you – just won't know how to show it."

You smiled at her words, stubbing out your own cigarette. "Listen to your own words Ada," you stated as you pushed off the wall. "He's just the same with you."
