Spencer Hasting- Truth (c)
Pretty Little Liars One Shot
It wasn't the first time that you had found Spencer curled up in the corner of her bed. Her knees were pulled close to her chest, her dark hair falling over her face and around her form like a veil blocking her from your sights. It had been a fair while since you had seen her in such a state and it did worry you as soon as you saw her.
Quietly you made your way over to her, hearing her soft whimpers and gentle sobs that were escaping. You sat down onto the edge of Spencer's bed, moving a hand to rub her knee to show her that you were there to support her. Her face raised from being hidden in her knees to reveal her tear stained face. She seemed confused as to why you were there although you were certain that you were far more perplexed than she was.
"Spence, what's up buttercup?" You smiled softly trying to reassure her and make sure that she knew that you cared for her dearly.
She sniffled, rubbing her eyes with the back of her hand in an attempt to remove the tears that were still falling from them.
"N-nothing," she whispered, her voice cracked and broken, a sound you hated to here.
Usually her voice was mellifluous and beautiful but when she cried it broke your heart due to the high levels of sorrow that were held in her words.
You cocked an eyebrow, shifting closer to her. You wrapped an arm around her, giving her shoulder, a gentle rub wanting to be able to help but there was only so much you could do without her helping herself as well in telling you what was wrong.
"You sure?" You asked softly.
She let out a shaky breath. "I'm just scared."
"Scared of what?" You questioned wanting to help in the matter.
Her face looked broken at even considering to tell you what was going through her mind. It physically hurt you to know that she was suffering to her own mind and there was little to nothing you could do to help her.
"That not everyone is how they seem. I don't know who I can trust anymore. How do I know? How is it possible to know? Everyone has their own secrets, myself included, and it is impossible to know if anyone is truly sincere."
You could help but give her a pained smile, moving to cup her cheeks with your hands wanting to make sure she looked you in the eyes as you spoke.
"Spencer, now is a scarier time than any with what is going on. And yes, trust is a hard thing to form at the moment but I promise you with every ounce of my being that we are going to get through this together. Even if you don't trust me, I trust you. All I want is you to be happy and I hope that you have it in you to trust me too," you said softly.
Spencer paused for a moment, seemingly completely lost in your words, not expecting such kindness not even from her girlfriend.
"I trust you," she whispered.
