The Big Bang Theory One Shot

New relationships were always interesting – nerve wracking even and no one could blame you for that.

It was difficult to adjust to being with someone properly and realise that it wasn't just you anymore.

However, you never thought that you'd be with someone for a few months and not even kiss them.

You understood being nervous, and you weren't going to rush anything.

In fact, you were quite happy just enjoying Sheldon's company and being able to cuddle with him, especially after Leonard told you that Sheldon hadn't been close with someone in a long time.

The two of you met through Penny and she was still quite proud of herself that it had worked out – so far anyway.

As Leonard was staying with Penny for the night, Sheldon had invited you over for some movies and you offered to cook him a meal.

You'd just began to cook the spaghetti as you were making spaghetti and meatballs for the two of you, which Sheldon was looking forward to plus he'd liked your cooking since the start.

Whilst you were breaking up the spaghetti, you felt two arms wrap around your waist from behind and a chin resting on top of your head.

"The upside of you being quite tall," you joked with Sheldon.

You heard him chuckle softly as he stood there in comfortable quiet.

"Sheldon?"

Your boyfriend moved so that his head was resting on your shoulder. "What's wrong?"

"I don't want to rush anything," you told him as you turned around in his arms so that you were looking up at him. "But why have you not kissed me?"

Sheldon looked somewhat surprised for a moment but regained his composure quickly.

"I'm honestly just curious."

He smiled slightly. "I like taking things slowly. I don't want this to be rushed."

You nodded in acknowledgement of what he was saying, and of course you understood his thought process.

"But I have no issue with it if you're ready."

You smiled up at him, causing him to smile in response.

Before you knew it, Sheldon was leaning down to you and your lips met in a gentle kiss.

When he pulled away he was smiling down at you like crazy.

"Was that worth the wait?" you questioned him.

He chuckled and continued to smile that big and crazy smile.

Without answering you, he leant down and kissed you for the second time that evening causing you to smile into the kiss.

"Most definitely worth it."
