Sam- Believing (h)

Nerve One Shot

Even though you met Sam because of Nerve and because you were somewhat stupid enough to play it as well, you knew full well that it was a good thing that it had been shut down.

Sam had permanently moved to New York after Nerve was shut down, and the two of you lived together but you still had school and a job and friends that didn't believe you were actually dating your boyfriend.

Your parents were good with you moving in with Sam – they liked him, the apartment was walking distance for school as well as to the diner where you worked, plus they were just glad that you were happy with someone.

A couple of your friends weren't so sure. They had convinced themselves that Sam was just an old family friend and that's why your parents were so chilled about you moving in with him.

Of course, you wanted your friends to meet Sam and actually get to know him, but a part of you suspected that it could be a while before that happened.

It was the weekend, so you didn't have school but you were still at work, whilst Sam was spending the day cleaning up your flat and getting some errands sorted.

Your shift at the diner had been relatively good, a couple of difficult customers but that was nothing new.

As it was the end of the shift, you were sat with a few of your friends in one of the booths whilst you waited for Sam to pick you up.

"How's it going with Sam, Y/N?" one of your friends asked, at least it was one of your friends that actually believed in your relationship.

You smiled when you thought about Sam, but before you got a chance to answer, one of your not-so-believing friends scoffed "Oh yeah...Sam. The, uh, boyfriend" they chimed in.

Rolling your eyes, you went to answer the initial question but then the diner door opened with Sam appearing.

You grabbed your jacket and stood from the booth, causing your friends to look at you in confusion.

Your boyfriend noticed you immediately, making his way over to you and wrapping his arms around your waist before he kissed you gently.

"That's one heck of a greeting" you stated when he pulled away causing him to laugh.

He pressed another kiss to your forehead with a smile on his face "Baby, I haven't kissed you since this morning" he told you in response.

Your rolled your eyes, for the second time that evening, but hugged his waist whilst he smiled down at you.

The friend who spoke the first time looked to the not-so-believing one "Still think he's a family friend, huh?" they quizzed with a smirk on their face.

You laughed and then slipped your jacket on "Sorry guys, but I'm gonna have to head out" you told them all.

A couple of them waved at you and Sam, whilst the others all bid you goodbye in different ways.

Sam slid his arm around your shoulder as the two of you walked out of the diner.

When you reached his bike, he handed you your helmet and put on his own before you did the same.

Climbing onto the bike behind your boyfriend, you wrapped your arms around his waist and placed your head on his shoulder.

"You ready Baby?" he questioned as he recced the engine - ready to speed off.

You laughed, interlocked your fingers together on his stomach, "You know it"
