iZombie One Shot

Having a secret always felt kind of bad but having a secret that you couldn't tell the guy you loved – that was even worse.

You had been a zombie before you started dating Major, and six months down the line he still didn't know.

It wasn't a secret that Major had gone against Liv when he'd found out about her being a zombie and after that you just couldn't bring yourself to tell him.

You were worried that he'd dump you over it and of course you didn't want your relationship to end.

The meat cute incident had ended badly for all parties involved, and you already knew what Liv had done to Major but you had to pretend as if you weren't there because you had no possible way of explaining it.

Major had practically disappeared since what Liv had done but you couldn't blame him.

The fact that you could only eat brains was definitely something to get used to.

You'd been sat in your apartment and minding your own business when Major used his key to come in.

He didn't look happy at all, and you could tell he was upset as he dodged you kissing him when you got up to greet him.

"I think we need to talk."

You sighed. "About your disappearing act? Yeah we should talk about that."

Major mimicked your sigh. "Not about that. About us."

"About us?"

Major motioned for you to sit down on your sofa, and he followed you shortly after.

"What's wrong Major?"

"I don't think we can be together anymore."

You gasped a little. "What? Why?"

"It just isn't working."

"You can't be serious Major! You can't just come back after weeks of not being around and claim that we shouldn't be together anymore."

"You don't know what I have been through!"

You shook your head in frustration. "I don't do I? Oh, how about the cravings? Or the visions? Or the fact that you are living with that person's memory!"

A look of shock crossed your boyfriend's face.

"I was there Major. I know what Liv did, she make you just like us."

"Us?"

"I was a zombie before you even met me, before we started dating, but after seeing how you reacted to Liv I couldn't just tell you."

"Yes, you could have. We would have worked through it."

You scoffed at his reply. "Oh yeah? Just how you were prepared to 'work through' you being a zombie by breaking up with me?!"

"I didn't know what else to do. I didn't want to ruin your life."

It was then that you realise the hurt within Major's tone, and you couldn't help but step into his arms to wrap him in a tight hug.

He hugged you back and you felt as if everything could be okay.

You pulled away slightly to look up at him. "How could you ruin my life when you are my life?"
