The Maze Runner One Shot

The Glade was never a place of hostility.

It was somewhere that everyone needed to work together and yet, you and Gally just couldn't get along.

For all of the other Gladers, it was normal for them to hear the arguments that occurred between you and Gally.

Sometimes they could be relatively quiet but he majority of the time, they blew up and your shouting could be heard by the runners.

For some reason, the two of you just didn't get along.

It wasn't as if you were the one provoking it – it was Gally that started it because something you had done had irritated him.

Around the Glade, you did a mixture of everything but you mostly helped out with the gardening but when a runner was needed, you stepped up to the plate.

Ben had managed to injure his ankle, so whilst he was resting Alby had asked you to step in and help out Minho with mapping the maze.

Of course, that had irritated Gally.

"So, what? You're a runner now?!" Gally had been yelling at you about the fact that you were going to be running with Minho.

"Gally just shove off okay? This isn't your business."

"Everything that happens in the Glade is my business," he stated as he crossed his arms.

You shook your head. "No, it is not."

He scoffed. "Oh? So just because you're shacking up with Newt you think you run the place?"

At the mention of his name, your boyfriend came to stand next to you.

"Oh look, here he comes, the knight in shining armour," Gally had sarcasm in his tone.

"Since when do I think that I run the place here? We all know Alby is the leader Gally," you reminded the angry Glader.

"You walk around here doing odd jobs, you don't care enough to have just one job and clearly you aren't committed to actually helping us around here!"

Before you got a chance to reply to Gally, Newt stepped in. "She doesn't need to have a specific job Gally. She does what she can do and that is, helping all of us out."

"So, get that into your thick skull, will you? And stop shucking targeting me when there's no bloody reason for it!"

"There's always a reason for it Y/N," Gally stated sounding annoyed.

"What have I ever done to you? Seriously Gally, all you ever do is yell at me for doing nothing bad to you."

When Gally didn't answer you, you walked off with Minho to get ready to go out.

Newt gave you a quick kiss, bidding you good luck and promising to see you later.

Just before you got to the doors, you heard Gally speak up. "None of us deserve to be here Y/N. Girls even less so as all we want to do is protect you."
