Austin Ames- That Girl (h)
A Cinderella Story One Shot
You'd never expected to be that girl – the one that was dating the most popular guy in the school.
It was such a surreal thing, and you still found yourself questioning why he was with you but he was.
Keeping it under wraps had not been easy but the two of you managed.
The relationship wasn't something that you wanted every single person's input on. It was not their relationship, nor were they you or Austin, so they had no reason to attempt to explain what was going on in your life.
You cared about Austin, of course you did, but there was a part of you that wondered how you fitted into his life.
He was going to be going to a prestigious college, on a scholarship no less, whilst you still hadn't managed to figure out your next move.
There were ideas in your mind but none of them had become solid.
So that left you sitting up at the place where you could overlook the town, questioning your life to some extent.
"Why did I know I would find you up here?"
You turned around in the direction of the voice to see your boyfriend strolling towards you, his hands in the pockets of his jeans.
He sat down on the ground next to you, leaning back on his arms.
"Why are you here?"
"My girlfriend wasn't answering her phone and I know where she goes when she wants to think."
You rolled your eyes. "That didn't answer my question."
"I am here because I am worried about you. You haven't been yourself since we went public about us, and every time someone mentions what you should do after graduation you look like you are about to cry."
You sighed, placing your head into your hands.
When you didn't answer him, Austin sat up and wrapped his arm around you so that you would sit closer to him. "You need to talk to me about whatever is going through your head. I can't help you if you don't talk to me about it."
"It isn't worth talking about."
"Everything about you is worth it to me. I am with you for a reason Y/N."
You scoffed at him. "That's exactly it, no one knows why you're with me and they don't even want to believe that you are."
He shook his head as he placed his hand on your chin to get you to look up at him.
When you did, he realised there were tear stains on your cheeks and he gently moved his thumbs to wipe them away.
"What happened to not letting others tell you what to think?"
"They haven't been telling me."
"But they got into your head," he reasoned with you. "And the only thing about me that I want in your head, is that I love you."
