To say that you were unsure about what was going to happen, well that was a very slight understatement.

You had been with your boyfriend, Jake, for a little over six months and you were yet to meet his family.

He had told you quite a few times that his family was mad, and he wanted to make sure that you wouldn't run off once you had met them. You couldn't completely judge what he was saying, but you did understand his worry about a hectic family as yours was hectic also.

Most likely not as hectic as his, however.

You had finally managed to get Jake to agree to introduce you to his family, and it took about three hours of convincing to get him to agree.

All of Jake's family were aware that he had a girlfriend, and they had been pestering him to bring you home right from the get go.

Jake's parents, Sue and Pete, were both at work whilst his younger siblings, Karen and Ben, were still at school.

That left just you and Jake at the house, due to both of you finishing college early, Pete and Sue knew you were there as Jake had pre-warned them but Karen and Ben were in for a surprise when they got back.

You and Jake had decided to hide out in his room until everyone else got back – well less you, more Jake, but it was fine with you.

You were lying on Jake's bed and Jake was sat at the bottom of the bed with his legs crossed, doing some homework, "Aren't they all due back soon?" you asked your boyfriend.

Jake didn't answer you to start with, so you poked him with his foot causing him to look back at you "Uh...one second" he told you as he reached to grab his phone and check his phone "Yeah, they are" he answered your earlier question "Karen and Jake will be back with Mum in a couple of minutes, and then Dad will be here in about fifteen" he explained.

You moved to lie on your front, and you propped yourself up by resting your chin on your hands, "I guess it'll be time to face the music, huh?" you told him as you looked up.

Jake sighed but then nodded "You promise you won't run off?" he quizzed with some uncertainty in his voice.

Sitting up, Jake moved his things and you sat in his lap "I promise Love" you stated before you pecked his lips "I love you, you do know that right?" you smiled slightly as you spoke.

Jake's smile mimicked yours "Of course I do" he said and your smile stayed "I love you Y/N" he gently lifted you up whilst he talked, and laid you down on the bed with him hovering above you "A whole lot" he stated before leaning down to kiss you softly.

The two of you spent a bit more time like that, but you both heard the door open so Jake sat up and pulled you up with him "Now...do we wait for your Dad to get home too? Or do we just go downstairs?" Jake pouted slightly as you spoke to him.

"Do we have to?" he complained, continuing to pout.

You laughed and stood up, offering him your hand, "Come on, we can't hide up here forever, plus your Mum knows I'm here" you explained to him.

Jake took your hand, intertwining your fingers together, "Let's go then" he said before he opened his door.

The two of you made your way down the stairs, and Jake led you to the kitchen where Sue was stood behind the counter with Ben and Karen sat at the dining table.

All eyes snapped to the two of you when you walked in, and Ben's mouth dropped open, "Mum! Jake's holding hands with a girl!" Ben announced to Sue who rolled her eyes at her youngest son.

Jake audibly groaned, and you laughed whilst placing your free hand on Jake's arm and moving closer to him, "Mum" Jake said and Sue turned to the two of you "This is Y/N, my girlfriend" Jake introduced you.

Sue smiled at you, and came to hug you so you let go of Jake to hug her back, "It's lovely to finally meet you" you told her once she had released you.

You moved back to Jake's side afterwards and resumed your earlier positon "You're very pretty" Karen stated from the dining table, whilst looking at you with a curious look on her face.

You smiled over at her "Thankyou Karen, that's very sweet of you" you thanked her as you still stood by Jake.

Jake turned his head to kiss the side of your head "Ew! Jake's showing affection" Ben grimaced whilst he announced the fact that his brother was showing something different to usual.

"Ben!" Jake called to his sibling in frustration "Stop it" he told him sternly.

Ben pouted and turned to Sue, who just shrugged, "It's okay Jake" you reassured your boyfriend "I don't mind, it'll take some getting used to for them" you said as you looked up at him.

Jake sighed and looked back at you "I just don't want him upsetting you" he told you worriedly.

You shook your head, and went on your tip toes to kiss his cheek, "No one is going to upset me, okay?" you continued to look up at him whilst you spoke to him.

"Okay Baby" he nodded in agreement with you after he had answered.

You didn't know why Jake had been so hesitant, his family seemed sweet despite being a tad strange.
