"I thought you said life on the Tardis would be nonstop adventure," you complained as you lay on your back beside the control panel so you could watch as your friend fixed it.

"This is an adventure. I could get electrecuted at any moment," The Doctor replied after dropping his screwdriver into the tangle of wires he'd created.

"That's your adventure, but I'm still bored," you declared with a groan and covered your eyes with the crook of your elbow. The Doctor stopped to look at you with semi wide eyes, "You're not even worried?"

"Doubting yourself Doctor?" you teased after you uncovered your face and sat up to face him more.

"Of course not," he exclaimed with mock anger clouding his face, "How dare you say such a thing!"

"My apologizes, Eli," you say solomly as you bow your head. The Doctor made a sour face at your nickname for him but decided against bringing it up.

"You're forgiven and I'm sure you can think of some little game to pass the time," he stated as he finally plucked his precious sonic screwdriver from the wire. You stuck your tongue out at him, which he promptly returned, as you searched for a suitable game.

"Have you heard of knock knock jokes?" you question him as you lay back on the floor.

"Not often."

"Ok well, I say knock knock, you say who's there, then I say a word or phrase and you repeat it but add the word who at the end. Got it?"

"Of course I've got it. I'm not a child," he retorted as he caught sight of your expectant gaze.

"That's debateable," you muttered.

"That's it I get to go first!"

"What? No, I'll be good." you give him your best puppy dog face but he merely narowed his eyes until you relented and symbolacly passed the first place honor over to him with a wave of your hands.

"Knock knock,"his voice echoed slightly as he leaned into the square of exposed wire.

"Who's there?" you sighed melodramatically as you let yourself fall back unto the floor.

"Ally."

"Ally who?"

"Ally gator," the Doctor chuckled as he turned to you with his own expectant expression.

"That's stupid," you stated bluntly despite his slightly hurt expression.

"Then you try." he challenged you as he temporarily forgo'd fixing the console.

"Fine," you exclaimed as you crossed your arms, "Knock, knock."

Who's there?" the Doctor mimiced your stance, although in a standing postion, as he noticed the smirk on your lips.

"Doctor."

"Doctor who?" his voice was lined with confusion but he tried to retain his coolness by raising his eyebrow.

"Hey that's my line!" you declare loudly, so loudly that it actually caused the alien man to jump. You laughed almost as loudly as you had shouted and after a moments paused the Doctor joined in.
