Spencer Reid Pt. 1 [Criminal Minds]*

Alright, this will be a part 1. Part 2 details will be at the end of the chapter! Enjoy the domestic cuteness!

/////////////

You unlocked the door to your apartment, grocery bags balanced in your arms. One bag in particular felt as though it weighed a million pounds, yet it only contained one item. A pregnancy test. You had bought three, so technically there were three items in the bag, but they all counted as one. One test that would decide your future.

Your husband, Spencer Reid, wouldn't be home for another two days. He was currently on a case in Florida, leaving you to take the tests by yourself. Well, just you and Penelope Garcia. Like Spence, you had a hard time making friends. So, by default, his friends were yours.

Setting the bags down on the counter, you tossed the keys into a bowl by the door. You gazed around the room, looking at the pictures of you and Spencer from over the years. A picture from the first day you met, a picture from your first date, a picture from when you two got engaged, and a picture from your wedding. Although, you technically didn't have a wedding, unless you count signing papers at city hall.

Where is Garcia? You thought, glancing at any clock in the room your eyes decided to rest on. She was supposed to be at your apartment ten minutes ago, but she probably got wrapped up in the case. The downside of working with a bunch of profilers is that she couldn't act at all suspicious when leaving for an hour.

Giving in to your anxiety, you took the three tests out of the bag. Sighing, you decided to take them now, waiting for your friend to see the results. The pacing began as the time for the tests to work passed, yet Garcia still hadn't come over.

"Screw it, screw it, screw it." You rant, storming into the bathroom. You stared at the test, your body freezing in place.

"Sorry I'm late! Spencer was worried about you because I let something slip, not about you possibly being pregnant, but that you were worried and he wanted to know everything and then I got wrapped up in the case and- oh. You took them." Garcia rambled, walking into the apartment, which you left unlocked for her.

"I'm pregnant." You mutter, your eyes welling with tears. You were thrilled, ecstatic, but you didn't think Spencer would be. The two of you had never really discussed having a child.

"Happy tears? Sad tears? Sorta happy tears?" Garcia asked, setting all her things on the floor to pull you from the bathroom. You shook your head, unsure what you really were.

"Um, uh, sorta happy? Spencer is going to be so mad..." You whisper, gently taking a seat on your couch. Garcia's face twisted between emotions, but settled on confusion.

"Spencer Reid? Mad? I don't think I've ever seen such a thing." She smiled, carefully holding your hands in hers.

"He-he doesn't want kids. W-we never talked about it." You began to sob, enveloping Garcia into a hug. Tears began to stain her brightly colored sweater, darkening the lime green color.

"Have you seen him with Henry? Or Michael? The only other time I see him that happy is with you." She assured, soothingly rubbing your back.

"O-okay... For now, I'll take your word for it. But when he gets back..."

"You'll tell him and he will be so happy if he were a cartoon he would explode." Garcia grins, her eyes widening with excitement. You forced yourself to smile, feeling a little bit better as you did.

"I'm having a baby." You giggle, allowing the anxiety melt away.

"You're having a baby." Garcia giggled, pulling you back into a hug, this time of happiness. Now, all that was left was tell Spencer.

---------

A few weeks passed and you had sickness like clockwork. Every day at 2:00 PM and 2:00 AM you found yourself throwing up. You'd only been nauseous, but now it had escalated to throwing up. According to your scans, you were 3 months pregnant. You were scared to tell Spencer, so you waited until you were at least 12 weeks. Miscarriages were less likely after 12 weeks.

You woke at 2AM, barely making it into the bathroom before you started to throw up. Unlike the other nights, you had to go to the master bathroom attached to your shared room with Spencer.

"Y/N?" Someone interrupted, opening the door to the bathroom. You looked up to look Spencer in the eye before turning back to the toilet.

"Sorry, this is so gross." You cough, flushing the toilet. A cup of water and mouthwash was set in front of you, a hair tie in your husband's hand. Just as he started to tie your hair back, your stomach lurched again, causing you to throw up again.

"It's okay. You're sick, it's a natural human process." Spencer reassured you, rubbing soothing circles into your back. Once again, you stopped throwing up. If all things kept to schedule, you were done for the night.

"Having a baby is a natural human process." You whisper, pulling yourself to your feet. You brushed the foul taste from your mouth, adding mouth wash to at least make your breath smell nice.

"I'm sorry, did you say having a baby?" Spencer asked, wrapping an arm around you when you join him on the bathroom floor again. You both leaned against the bathtub, both the pressure from his arms wrapped around you and the coolness of the floor tile calming you down.

"I'm pregnant." You mumble, tears welling in your eyes as his grip on you loosened. It didn't take long before it was back to normal, laughing filling your ears.

"You're pregnant?! Mine?..." Spencer asked, moving away from you just enough to see your face.

You playfully slapped his arm, rolling your eyes. "No, it's Derek Morgan and I's secret love child. Yes it's yours!"

"We're gonna be parents?" He gasped, resisting every urge in his body to kiss you and never stop.

"Yes, we are. I'm three months along. I tried to hide it from you until my next scan. I didn't want to tell you in case I lost the baby and I was scared you'd be angry. I have a little bump..." You grin, lifting your shirt to show him your slightly rounder stomach than what it normally was. Spencer stared at you in wonder, gently placing his hand on your lower abdomen.

"You have nothing to fear. You especially don't need to fear me. I will protect you and the baby from anything that threatens you. I-"

"Relax. Let's just go back to bed and snuggle, please?" You beg, holding your hands on his, which remained on your belly. The two of you walked back to bed, Spencer barely letting you out of his arms. A blanket was wrapped around your bodies, your legs entangled together.

"You know, at twelve weeks the baby is about 2 inches long. About the size of a lime. Reflexes are starting to form, they can flex their fingers and toes real soon. The intestines are starting to move into the abdomen as well. The face is very human like and no longer just smooth skin, eyes and a mouth are starting to form." Spencer rambled, knowing there was no chance he was going to go back to sleep after this. You just closed your eyes, allowing his voice to push you into sleep.

You were having a baby and neither of you could be happier.

Part 2 will include telling the rest of the team, as well as a lot of time skips through the pregnancy. Maybe there will even be a part 3 of the future. Just let me know!
