Mordred Imagine [Merlin]*
Today was a nervous day. Your best friend, Mordred, was getting knighted into Camelot. You were happy for him, but you were nervous that he would get hurt. Being a knight can be very dangerous.
There was a large ceremony, which Mordred invited you to. You wouldn't have been able to go unless, he let you. You put on your best dress, a white and gold colored, with dirt on the bottom that never seemed to wash off. Your mother helped you with your hair and cleaning up. Seeing as your family lived in a poor part of Camelot.
You left and walked toward the castle. The guards gave you weird looks, but they let you in. Mordred had given you a piece of paper with his signature as a message.
The throne room was huge. You had never been in anyplace to big and elegant. Red and gold cloth hang from the ceiling, almost touching the ground. Knights and other guests were standing around talking.
A women walked up to you. "Hello, I haven't seen you around? Do you work in the castle?" She asked.
"No, I'm just a friend of Mordred's." you explain. "I'm Y/N."
She nodded "I'm Gwen. I work as a hand maiden."
"Hand maiden. That must be interesting." You say.
"Yes, it can be at times. Especially when-"
Music cut her off. Everyone turned and watched Mordred, dressed in red and chain mail, emerge from the crowd of other knights. He knelt before King Arthur as he put a sword on Mordred left, than right shoulder.
Everyone clapped as the ceremony ended. After the party at the end, you left. You stuck by Gwen all night, seeing as you didn't know anyone else except Mordred.
As you walked into the cool air, you got a chill. It was colder than anticipated. You were at the bottom of the steps when a voice called out to you. You looked up to see Mordred running after you.
"Did you like the ceremony?" He asked when he caught up.
"Yeah, it was nice." You answer.
"Sorry I could be with you at the party, the knights insisted I stay with them." He said, looking into your eyes.
"It's alright, I understand. I had someone I could talk to." You reply smiling at him.
"Who? Was it a knight named Gwaine, because if it was-"
"Mordred." You cut him off. " It was a hand maiden named Gwen."
"Oh, okay. Stay away from Gwaine, I swear he flirted with every women he came in contact with tonight." Mordred said.
You laughed, but then shivered.
"You cold?" He asked. You nod, your teeth starting to chatter a little. "Here."
He put his arm over your shoulder and held you closer, not so close that you couldn't walk, but close enough so you were warmer.
"Thanks." You say.
"No problem." He answered smiling at you.
