Merlin sat in his small room, a magic book on his lap. The yellow page turned to a spell about conjuring some potion. He would never use it, but at least it was there.

You walked into his room and plopped at the foot of his bed. "Is there something wrong with me?" You ask, causing him to look up from the book.

"I don't know exactly what you mean, but I don't think there's anything wrong with you." Merlin answered, setting the book aside on the bed.

"This was my third date in the past two weeks and none of them have ended well. Am I just undateable or something?" You ask, sighing as you put your chin in your hand. Merlin smiled at you.

"I think any guy should be happy to have you. You're the court physicians daughter, you're very smart. Your kind and sweet and amazing." Merlin told you, causing a smile to creep on your face.

"I wish every guy was like you Merlin." You say, kissing his cheek. He blushed dark red and tried to distract himself with the book.

"Y/N, this is going to sound crazy, but I was thinking maybe one day you could go on a date with me?" Merlin asked, a smile creeping on his face. You just laughed.

"Um, maybe not Merlin. I don't want to ruin our friendship." You say, still laughing. A little hurt, Merlin looked down at the book and nodded. You kissed his cheek and smiled. "See you later. Thank you."

"You're welcome." Merlin murmured, still reading. You got up and left the room, going into your own small room for bed.

About a week later you were critically injured. Gauis and Merlin were freaking out. You lay in a bed, blood gushing from your leg. Gauis has tied tight cloth above the wound, but he needed other things. In a panic, he just left to get his supplies.

"Y/N...." Merlin muttered, sitting by the bed. He held you hand an slightly brushed hair out of your face. "I love you.."

Little did Merlin know, you could actually hear him. He loved you. He loved you too. You wanted to wake up and kiss him, just to say I love you too, but you couldn't.

Two days later when you did wake up, the first thing you did was kiss him. You two started to date and eventually got married.
