Digging trenches is difficult. There was one thing about it though that cheered you up, the fact that you got to see your boyfriend, Josh, all day. He looked so good when he was working, his muscles strained, his face wrinkled.

Even though you were working, he was still nice. After work, the two of you would usually go to the market and get some snacks. Then you would either go to Sky's place, your place, or his place for dinner. Or the two of you would just go alone on a date.

"Today was easier than usual." Josh said as the two of you turned in your shovels.

"Yeah, I can't believe they let us go early. I guess they were impressed with everyone's work from the past few days." You say, walking to the market with him. He took your hand and held it in his, both of your hands were calloused.

"I suppose." He said. Your arms were swinging, the two of you were swaying next to each other.

"How's your family?" You ask.

"Good. Zoey's been wanting to see dinosaurs, as usual. Maddy's been sneaking around, but don't tell my parents that. My Dad's been driving me crazy, and every time I see my mom, she seems to be mad or frustrated." Josh said, getting frustrated.

"I'm sorry. Sometimes I think your dad just pushes you too hard. I don't like seeing you so worked up and mad because of him. Sure, there's nothing I can do about it, but I just hate seeing you agitated." You say, starting to get frustrated yourself.

"Hey, calm down. I'm fine." He said, kissing your cheek.

"Alright." You say, kissing his cheek.
"So your place or mine tonight?"

"How about mine. You haven't been there in a while ad Zoey loves you." Josh said, glancing at you. You nod.

That night, you were at Josh's. His mother was asking you about how school was going and all of your classes. You, being an A and B student, was doing fine. Maddy kept asking you how hard it was to dig trenches, she might have to in a while if she can't get a different job.

After dinner, Zoey came up to you and Josh. She wanted to know if the two of you would play with her. You agreed and followed her to her room.

Eventually to was time for you to go home. Josh walked you home. "See you tomorrow." He said kissing your cheek.

"See you." You say kissing him on the lips, before walking inside.
