Charles Xavier [X-Men]*

I really need to stop writing Charles... but I don't want to. Hope you all enjoy this, dedicated to KobayashiMarue .

Trigger Warning: Nightmares, hinted abuse but no actual abuse. Hard to explain, but if you're extra sensitive it's best to skip.

Your body pulsed in your bed, tremors shaking the bed itself. Charles sat upright, pulling you into his arms. Nightmares weren't uncommon with you, they plagued your sleep nearly every night. There was a drill to follow when this happened, just hold you till you woke up.

"No!" You screamed, tears pouring from your eyes. You lashed out, repeatedly hitting your husband before you had the conscious knowledge of what you were doing.

At first, you wondered why his chest and sometimes face had small bruises. When he explained, you felt overwhelmingly terrible. You expected him to pack his bags and leave, but he didn't. 'It's not your fault. It's not intentional. It's something you're working through. Who would I be if I left you?' Charles assured you, holding you so close in his arms you thought you couldn't breathe, but you felt comforted.

Charles repeated that in his head every time the nightmares occurred. Your unintentional physical fits usually lasted a couple minutes, calming down once he managed to successfully get in your mind and calm you down with is talking. He didn't speak out loud since his voice would be skewed by your elbowing in his throat, so he spoke in your mind. It was the only time you allowed him in your head.

"Okay, okay, you can calm down now." Charles physically spoke as you physically calmed down, the tears still water-falling down your face. "Just relax sweetheart, just relax."

You closed your eyes to the sound of his voice in your ears, sobbing as he gently rocked you back and forth. You sobbed even more once you opened your eyes, seeing the red mark lightly swelling around his left eye. You didn't know why he stayed with you, especially since this happened.

"W-w-why?" You beg, yelling in emotional pain. Nightmares were an awful thing, twisting your brain to believe things that weren't true.

In this particular nightmare, Charles was the complete opposite of how he actually was. He hit you and hurt you, doing other things to you you didn't want to think of ever again. He yelled and neglected you all other times, causing you to curl into a ball of never ending sorrow and despair.

"Why what, honey?" Charles asked, his voice soft and soothing. You didn't know how to answer, forgetting a lot of what was happening.

"Why are-are you so-so ni-nice to m-m-me?" You stumble out between sobs, burying your face into his chest before you could say anything else. Charles' brows furrowed with even more concern, his arms gingerly held you compared to the otherwise strong hold.

"Because," Charles began, "I love you. You know that, you're my wife. We have a future, remember?"

"But-but you hu-hurt me." You cry, muffled from his chest. He wasn't wearing a shirt, allowing you to get a better feel that he was a human being that cared for you. "How?"

"It was a nightmare love, remember? Not real, just your imagination being a piece of crap. I would never hurt you. And I know you're gonna fight that because you hurt me, but I don't care. It's purely an accident, I know you don't want to do it. It's all okay, this won't ruin us. I would never harm you." Charles reassured you, gently rubbing your arm. You continued to cry into his chest, letting his comfort overwhelm you.

"Pl-please tell me about-t the future? I-I forgot." You say, taking deep breaths. Charles smiled, kissing your forehead.

"Of course. We've been married for a few months, so planning the future isn't far out. We planned to have kids. We've been trying remember?" Charles told you, keeping the tone of his voice low. When you got this upset, you forgot most of everything besides the here and now. It was like talking to someone with memory loss, you didn't remember most of what had been talked about before you fell asleep until you calmed down.

"We want a boy and a girl, maybe more than that. You said you didn't want to adopt, you wanted to biologically have kids. Plus, kids are great and we both really love them. You've wanted to get pregnant since we got married, but I'm the one that convinced you to wait a while." Charles said, repeating some of it. Kids were a big part of what you both wanted in the future, he needed to make sure it was on your mind.

"We want to go to America and possibly around the world, trying to find other mutants that need help. Our kids would come with of course, enjoying the sights and family times. We'll get our picture taken in front of the Statue of Liberty, the Sphinx in Egypt, the Great Wall of China. Our kids in our arms and when old enough, standing beside us. It'll be perfect." Charles added, smiling as you had calmed down in his arms.

"That's right, kids. Our babies." You whisper, basically laying on top of your husband. The nightmare still shook your thoughts, but knowing that it wasn't real helped.

"I'll stay beside you the whole time you carry them and be there when they're born. They'll be my whole world, you included of course. You're my world right now." He whispered, laughing slightly at his own cheesy lines.

You slightly smiled, moving up on your husbands body. You pressed your lips to his, moving a hand through his dark hair. "Thank you, I'm sorry, I love you."

"Love you too, forever."

"Forever?"

"Forever."
