Shadowhunters- Jace&Alec-BSM-Hiding the hurt

Hey everyone. I wanna quickly apologize for not writing in such a long time. I literally have no excuse this time. I was just being a lazy ass and I didn't have much motivation to write. But I am back and Spring Break is coming up so I'm gonna try to write some more over the break. Sending in requests help me so much to get some motivation. Even if you have a small idea but haven't really constructed much of a plot, I would still love to hear it and maybe I can write something for you. I wanna thank Maeveantor for requesting this imagine.

Y/N's POV

I swing my seraph at the demon and slash its arm. It swings its claws at me and I try to dodge it but I am unable to and it slashes my side. I see blood pouring out of the 3 claw marks and I tear part of my shirt off to hold over the wounds. I kill the demon shortly after and I sit on the ground. I take the cloth off of the wound and see that it is still bleeding a lot. I draw the Iratze rune to heal it but it doesn't work. I groan at the pain and put the cloth back over it.

I make my way back to the Institute and quietly make my way to my room before one of my brothers, Alec and Jace, can ask me how the mission went. I take a shower which hurt like hell and patch up the wound. I put some sweatpants on and a big hoodie. I am about to slowly climb into my bed when I hear a knock at the door and a split second later, both my brothers burst through my door and start bombarding me with questions about my mission.

"How'd it go?" "Are you okay?" "Is it dead?" The both question.

"It went good, I am fine, and it is dead" I tell them. My side still hurt like hell and the fact that the Iratze rune wasn't healing it scared me, but I didn't want them to worry or both go into overprotective brother mode. They let out sighs of relief.

"Good job Y/N." Jace says.

"We ware glad you are alright" Alec tells me. I nod and smile.

"But I super tired so I'm gonna go to sleep. I will see you guys in the morning" I say. They nod and say 'goodnight' before leaving me alone in my room. I sleep on my uninjured side and I just hope that it will be better tomorrow.

I wake up and try to get out of bed but I can barely move due to the pain in my side. I lay there for about 10 minutes in excruciating pain before reaching over to my bedside table and to grab my stele. I draw the Iratze rune again and this time it takes some of the pain away but the wound is still there and it looks even worse than yesterday. I sigh at the fact that it took away enough pain to let me get out of bed. I slowly take my pjs off and put on some comfy leggings and a loose top. I open my door to go get breakfast and I am met with Jace.

"Good morning sleepyhead" He says, smiling

"Morning" I reply.

"Ready to train?" He asks. I give him a confused look before realizing it's Thursday and we always train Thursday mornings.

"I'm still pretty tired from last night. Can we skip training today?" I ask, hoping he will let me.

"I wish I could sweetheart but Alec got mad at me last time I let you skip and I don't want another lecture from him." Jace explains to me. I curse in my head and hesitantly follow him to the training room.

We start off easy and I am doing okay. Soon we grab the sparring sticks. Jace ends up hitting my good side and I try my hardest to stop him from hitting my bad side but he is too fast and too skilled for me and he hits the wound. I go down and hold my side. Jace crouches down next to me, worry and extremely confused.

"Y/N, are you okay?" He asks before he sees blood drip from my side. He quickly lifts the side of my shirt up and sees the gauze that was taped to my wound is covered in blood. "What the hell Y/N!?" he raises his voice. I know that he is more worried than mad but he is still pretty mad. "We asked if you were alright and you said you were fine."

"I am fine" I try to convince him.

"Well this doesn't look fine to me." Jace says. He pulls out his stele and tries to activate my Iratze rune but it doesn't heal the wound. "Why the hell wouldn't you tell us that this happened?" Jace pretty much yelled

"I didn't want you to worry or freak out" I said quietly, looking down.

"We are always going to worry about you because you are our baby sister Y/N. We need to know this stuff so we can take care of you." Jace told me in a gentle voice.

"But if you guys find out that I got hurt on missions then you won't let me go on anymore and I will just be a useless Shadowhunter" I told him.

"Y/N, just because you get hurt doesn't mean that you aren't an amazing Shadowhunter. Even Alec sometimes gets hurt on missions" Jace explains.

"So you sometimes get hurt on missions?" I ask.

"No not me. I'm way to good" Jace says, in a cocky voice. I hit his shoulder and we both laugh. "But for real on a serious note, I, Jace Wayland, best Shadowhunter of this generation, sometimes gets hurt on missions" He tells me. I laugh at him and nod my head. "Now lets get you to the infirmary." He says as he picks me up and carries me to the infirmary.

A few minutes later, Alec runs into the infirmary in search of me. He runs up to my bed and starts frantically asking me what was wrong.

"Alec, I'm fine. They are just a few scratches on my side." I tell him. He calms down a bit.

"Why didn't you just heal it with the Iratze rune?" Alec asks me.

"I tried but it didn't work for some reason. That's what they are trying to figure out right now" I inform him.

"Well until they find out, I'm not leaving your side" Alec says as he pulls up a chair and sits beside my bed.

Time Skip

I wake up, not even remembering falling asleep, and I look to my side. I see Alec asleep in the chair, his head on my leg and his hand in mine.

'I am so lucky to such amazing brothers' I think to myself. I grab my phone and quickly take a picture of Alec.

Another Shadowhunter walks in with a file and stops right in front of my bed.

"I have the results of the test we did as to why the Iratze rune didn't work" He tells me. I nod and then remember that Alec wanted to be one of the first to know why the rune didn't work. I gently shake him and he wakes up. He looks at me and gives me a small smile.

"They have the results of why the rune didn't work" I tell him softly. He sits up quickly and looks at the other Shadowhunter and nods.

"So from the test we ran we figured out that the rune didn't work because the scratches were too deep. That somehow affected the way the rune worked and it couldn't heal the wound properly. But now that we have let the wound heal a bit by itself, the rune will work." He informs us.

He hands me my stele and I proceed in drawing the Iratze rune on my side. The wound closes up fully and all the pain is gone. I look up at Alec and smile, and he returns one of his very own rare smiles.

"Thank you" I tell the other Shadowhunter and he walks off.

"I'm glad you are okay Y/N" Alec says as I get out of the bed and start walking towards the main area with him.

"Me too. Now I can go on another mission" I say.

"Not so fast. You still have to finish training with Jace and until that has happened, you aren't going on any missions." Alec tells me as we walk up to Jace and Izzy.

"Okay let's go right now Jace, I am fully healed so I can kick your ass now" I tell him.

"Iratze runes heal you Y/N, they don't give you super powers" Jace says in a cocky voice. Izzy, Alec, and I roll our eyes.

"I can still kick your ass" Alec says to Jace, causing Izzy and I to laugh.

"Yeah right" Jace says.

"I'm taller, stronger, and a more fierce fighter than you Jace, just admit it" Alec says.

"Oh really?" I say as I pull out my phone and pull up the picture I took of him sleeping from earlier. I show the picture to Izzy, Jace, and Alec. Izzy and Jace laugh while Alec groans.

"Delete that picture right now Y/N" Alec tells me.

"Why you look so adorable" I whine. "And it just reminds me that I have the best brothers in the world. And the best sister" I say.

"Aww" Izzy says. As all three of my older siblings hug me.
