Y/N's POV

My little brother, Conor was coming to the Institute to visit today. He lived in Idris with our mother, so I didn't get to see him that often. I was super excited to see him. 

"Hey smiley," my boyfriend Alec said, coming up behind me as I waited for my brother to get here. "I've never seen you get this excited before." he tells me.

"Yeah well I haven't seen my little brother in over a year and I miss him." I tell him. 

The portal opens up and I see my little brother walk out before it closes back up. I run up to him and pick him up and hug him, spinning him around. 

"Y/N" he whines. I put him down and smile at him. "You have to stop doing that I'm 11 now. I'm not a kid anymore." He says. I let out a little laugh.

"Doesn't mean that you aren't still my baby brother." I say as I ruffle his hair. He bats my hand away and tries to hold back a smile but fails. I turn to face Alec and he gives me a small smile. I then remember that they haven't met each other. "Oh Conor, this is Alec Lightwood. Alec this is my little brother, Conor." I said.

"Nice to finally meet you Conor. Your sister talks about you all the time." Alec smiles. I look at Conor who has a cocky smirk on his face.

"I don't talk about him all the time." I say as we start walking to show Conor his room.

"All the time." Alec whispers to Conor who laughs in return. I just roll my eyes.

We get to Conor's room and we get him settled in. Alec leaves to let us catch up and Conor and I sit on his bed to talk. 

"Is Alec your boyfriend?" Conor asks me. I giggle. Of course he would figure it out that easily. 

"Yeah he is." I nod.

"Does he make you happy?" he asks me. I smile at my little brother. I smile and nod at him. 

"He makes me very happy." I tell him. Even though Conor is a 7 years younger than me, he's still protective of me. We keep talking until we get hungry and we decide to go get some pizza.

We walk into the main area of the Institute to tell Alec that we are going out. 

"Hey, we are gonna go get some pizza for dinner. Did you want me to bring some back for you?" I ask when we find Alec. 

"Sure, that would be great. Thanks." He smiles. Conor walks up to him.

"Can I say something to you?" he asks Alec. Alec nods and crouches down to get to Conor's level. "If you hurt my sister, I will hurt you." Conor says in a somewhat threatening voice.

"CONOR!" I say surprised he did that. 

"It's fine," Alec says looking at me. "I would never even dream of hurting your sister. She is amazing. And I get why you are so protective of her." he says to Conor. Conor gives him a confused look. Alec points over to the training room where Izzy is training.

"You see the girl training over there?" Alec asks. Conor nods. "Well that's my sister. I wouldn't want anything to happen to her either." He smiles at Conor. Conor smiles back at Alec, then hugs him. 

"Thanks for making y/n happy." Conor says. 

"No problem" Alec replies, before letting us go get pizza.

Time Skip

We just finished eating our pizza and we grab the extra pizza for Alec. We walk out and we take a shortcut through the park. As we are walking I hear something. I take out my seraph blade and tell Conor to get behind me. I look around and just when I think the coast is clear, a vampire rushes at us. I swing my seraph blade and cut their arm. 

I see that the vamp is covered in blood and I know that they have already broken the Accords and they have blood lust. I see more vamps rush us and I am way out numbered. I try my best to fight them off when all of a sudden I am hit over the head with something hard and I black out.

When I wake up I am alone in the park. Conor is no where to be seen.

"Conor!?" I yell. "CONOR!?" I scream. I look around the park but still can't find him. Then I think back to what happened before I was knocked out. 

'The vampires.' I think to myself. 

"Dammit!" I yell. I then pull out my phone and dial Alec's number.

"Hey babe, what's up?" Alec answers. 

"Alec. I can't find Conor." I say starting to hyperventilate.

"Okay, calm down. What happened?" He asked. I could hear through the phone that he was getting geared up to help me.

"We w-w-ere walking through the p-park and a vamp attacked us. A bu-unch more sh-sh-showed up and they knocked me out. When I woke up, Conor was g-gone." I stuttered, trying to slow my breathing but it wasn't working. 

"I will be there in two minutes. Meet me at the old swing set." Alec said to me. We would always go to this old swing set that was in the park when we wanted to be alone.It was our special place.

"Okay" I whispered. I hung up and went to the swing set. Alec showed up about 30 seconds after I did. I ran up to him and hugged him. My breathing was still irregular and it was getting worse.

"Y/n, I need you to calm down." Alec whispered, knowing that I was on the verge of having a full fledged panic attack. 

"I c-can't" I said my breathing speeding up. I started to feel dizzy and my legs gave out. Alec caught me and lifted me into his arms. Before I knew what was happening, I passed out again. 

When I woke up for the second time, I was in the Institute infirmary. I look beside me and see Izzy sitting next to me.

"Hey. Are you okay?" She asked, worried. I nodded. 

"Where's Alec and Conor?" I asked, starting to get worried again. 

"Well you had a panic attack so Alec dropped you off here and left to go find Conor." She said. I quickly got up from the bed and tried to rush out, but Izzy stopped me. "You have to rest, you are in no condition to fight right now." She told me

"I have to go find me little brother." I said, angrily at her. I loved Izzy and all but I needed to go find Conor.

"No need," Jace said as he walked into the infirmary, holding a glass of water. "Alec just called, he found Conor and they are on their way back to the Institute right now." he told us, handing me the water. I took a deep breath and calmed down. Izzy rubbed my back and smiled at me.

"Just have some water and then I will you out of the infirmary." She said to me. I drank the entire glass of water and stood up from the bed. Izzy and I walked out of the infirmary together and when we got to the main area, we saw Alec and Conor walk through the doors. 

I ran up to Conor, hugged him, picked him up, and spun him around. 

"Y/N" he whined again.

"Conor shut up. I thought I lost you tonight. Just let me hold you." I said to him. He hugged me back before I put him down. After I put him down, I crouched down and started to check him over for injuries. "Are you hurt? What did they do to you?" I asked worried.

"I'm fine. Alec already did this to make sure I was okay." Conor said. I stopped and looked up at Alec. I stood up and took two steps up to Alec and hugged him as tight as I could.

"Thank you" I whispered to him. 

"Anytime" He whispered back. I pulled out of the hug and planted a passionate kiss on his lips.

"Ewww!" We heard Conor groan. "Gross!" He said as he covered his eyes. We pulled away and laughed. 

We all went back to Alec's and my shared room after and watched a movie together. Half way through the movie, Conor fell asleep on Alec. When the movie finally ended, Alec carried Conor to his room before coming back to our room and getting into bed with me. I fell asleep wrapped in Alec's arms and his chin resting on the top on my head.
