Chapter four
A/N: hello everybody! First off I want to thank all of my beautiful readers that got past chapter one, and I also want to thank my beautiful editor grace-the-loser for being so helpful and making my extremely shitty writing skills into a work of art. Now that I've got that out of the way here's the chapter!

Samantha's POV
The sun had barley peeked over the horizon when I was suddenly woken up by John, Sam, Chris, and Bucky rushing into my dorm.
"Samantha!" Sam shouted. Bucky turning on the lights. I moaned in annoyance pulling the covers up to my face in attempt to be shielded from the light.
"Samantha," Chris gently shook my shoulder. I continued ignoring them hoping they would just leave.
"We could take her pillows from under her?..." I heard Bucky propose to Sam. Not wanting that I sit up tiredly glancing at the clock. the hour hand barley reaching the bold six painted on the old non electronic alarm clock that the boys make fun of me for having (mainly because when it goes off it's so loud and startling it sounds like the devil himself is waking you up.)
"What the hell could you possibly need at this hour?!"
"Calm down" John said. "Something happened," I role eyes in annoyance.
"And it isn't good..." Matt finished walking into the room fully clothed unlike the rest of us.
"Great. Mind sharing it? I greatly value my beauty sleep." I say sarcastically and agitated.
"We're not quite sure yet..." John said cautiously awaiting my reaction. He knows from experience that I'm not the nicest person before coffee. (One night he needed help finding Sherlock because he hadn't seen him since 8th period... so long story short it was three in the morning and we were stumbling around campus in our pajamas trying to find Sherlock. It wasn't fun for me but even worse for John.)
"Well, we don't know yet" Matt emphasized. " Sherlock is trying to get into the scene as we speak." He said tossing me my coat that was hanging from the back of my chair tucked under my desk. I catch it holding it in my lap examining all of their expressions to see if this was just some sort of sick joke... but Chris didn't seem like he was hiding anything, and we all know that he can't lie. He helps keep the rest of us in line with some help from John(but He mainly deals with Sherlock. seeing that he is the only person Sherlock listens to.) I hesitate for a moment then let out a tired groan and put the coat on over my navy blue tank-top and slip into my black worn high tops. "Great!" Matt clasped his hands together. "Off we go!" He turns around and walks out the room. Chris following immediately, John and Bucky slightly annoyed at his excitement at such an early hour followed a few moments later glancing back, and Sam waited for me by the door frame as I glanced over myself quickly in the the mirror.
"I look like crap." I say under my breath. Sam laughed slightly.
"You don't look to bad. You did just wake up."
"True." I agree putting my hair up in an effortless bun. I walked out the room Sam travelling beside me.
"Do you know anything vital about this mysterious 'bad thing' that might be useful when we get to the scene?" I question walking out the elevator and towards the gymnasium.
"We'll explain everything when we find Sherlock" Matt says leading the way as we exist the lift. As we near the building we spot Sherlock sitting at a bench eyeing the enormous crowd gathered around the gym. I see multiple cop cars and cops swarming around the place keeping the crowd away from the building. I spot a filled body bag being rolled into the back of an ambulance on a stretcher before I turn to Sherlock.
"Explain now." I said demanding. This is bringing back memories I hoped to keep locked away.
"There's been a murder." Sherlock says completely unfazed.
"Oh, really?" I say sarcastically. Annoyed at him for stating the obvious. "Who?"
"Coach Pendragon."
"Okay." I hesitated. It's beginning to feel all to real.
"The swim team went into practice five thirty as usual. And when he didn't show they went to his office to find him dead." Sherlock continued to talk about it as if it was just another everyday occurrence. I fell silent for a couple moments trying to rap my head around all of this... A murder. At this bordering school. I couldn't help but feel a bit excited.
"So. When do we start?"
"Start?" John asks confused.
"I'd say we start the investigation tonight so the evidence stays fresh" Sherlock says a slight smirk forming on the side of his lip from hearing the bit of excitement In my words.
"Investigation?" John asks again confused. "We aren't doing any such things." Sam and Chris are trying to process that they would potentially be tracking down a murder while Bucky on the other hand is leaning against a tree expressionless, unreadable about his thoughts on the matter at hand.
Matt pats John on the back."Isn't it exciting?"
"No. No it isn't. Someone is dead might I remind all of you. I think the police have this completely under control. They don't need our help."
"John, we should at least try. I think we owe that much to Arthur Pendragon." Chris says defending our side of the argument. John flashes an annoyed look at Chris for not standing by him on this matter.
"I agree" Bucky says. We advert our attention to Sam waiting for his move.
"It could be interesting to see where this leads." Sam responds to our gaze. I couldn't help but smile.
"Did that seriously just happen? We all just agreed to hunt down a murder that just killed our teacher!?" John says exasperated. Sherlock smiles at John knowing he would come round.
Moments later He sighs in defeat. "Fine, but if it gets out of hand we just leave it to the police." John says waiting for us to agree with his terms.
Sherlock scoffs "absurd, the police are idiots."
while the rest of us let out a sigh. "Fine"

In the cafeteria
"How are we suppose to solve this if we can't get into the crime scene?" I ask leaning back in my chair. Everyone looks over to Sherlock waiting for an answer, but nothing came out.
"We could go to the library and catch some of the talk that's going around..." Chris proposes after a few moments of silence.
"Sure." I shrug standing up.
"School's nearly going to start. We should probably wait till after" Matt points out. I sit back down poking at my cereal.
"About that. Did anyone finish the biology paper that Mcgonagall Handed out last week?" Bucky asks. Chris hands him his finished copy then turns back to the rest of us as Bucky starts filling in his paper.
"I can't see why anyone would want to murder Arthur." Sam says pushing a strand of hair from his face.
"What do you think our parents will do after they here about the murder?" Chris asks. "With winter break being so close I wonder how many kids won't be coming back next semester." I've never thought about it like that. What if my mom decides to take me out because its to 'dangerous'.
"I won't have to worry about that." Bucky says leaning back in his chair. Both his parents died a while back and he's been in foster homes ever since. And his foster parents couldn't care less about him. Partly the reason he was sent to this boarding school. Chris looks sympathetically at him.
"Well depending on how the police file this, and how the school decides to act on it. it could all just be swept under the rug." I say. Matt nods in agreement. For the rest of the meal Chris, Matt, John, and I discuss all the possibilities of the murder while Sam and Bucky stayed relatively quite. At ten we all make our way to the library to find Sherlock already there sitting at a table questioning Merlin. Merlin's eyes were red from crying. he and Arthur were good friends even before he started his first year of teaching here. Once Sherlock sees us he stands up awkwardly patting Merlin on the back then walks adjusting his coat that he insists on wearing everywhere.
"Find out anything?" Sam asks.
"No. well at least nothing of importance." We all shuffle to a table and discuss the possibilities John, Chris, and I thought up during breakfast only to have them shot down by Sherlock right away. I lean back defeated when he shoots down the idea of Jake. a guy who was after his job but failed his interview miserably.
"Then what else could it be?" Bucky asks sounding fed up with all of this.
"It's not like it's some chic flick love triangle thing from twilight." Sam says.
"Actually Jacob doesn't end up killing Edward... If he did it would of been a hell lot better book." I state. "but, remember the little fling Mr. Lancelot and Mrs. Guinevere had last year?"
"How do you know about that? You weren't even here last year." Sherlock states.
"Yes, but my sister grace was. and she is a fan of gossip."
"You're saying that Mr. Lancelot murdered Arthur to be with Guinevere?" He questions it for a moment."Possibly..."
" To make it more dramatic. what if Gwen killed Arthur to be with Lancelot." Buck throws out there.
"We need more information on this before we know anything for sure." Matt says.
"All we know is that he died between 7:50 yesterday and 5:30 today." John points out.
"And no one seems to know anything about it." Matt says.
"Well I've got some news for you, Bow tie. Grace says sitting at the table beside us with dean setting down their books that they were hiding behind eavesdropping on us. "I heard from the twins that Gwen & Lancelot are getting taken into questioning because they were the last ones to see him alive."
"And The murder weapon is said to be a sword." Dean ads. that sounds fake, but you can't expect gossip to be a hundred percent true. Sam roles his eyes.
"Were you seriously eavesdropping on us?" He rhetorically asks annoyance in his voice.
"Samantha, if mom new you were hunting down a murderer," I cut grace off.
" She doesn't know, and she won't."
"I could just call her and tell her." She says holding up her phone. I scoff.
"What do you want?"
"We want in."
"Both of you?" I gesture to the two of them. she smiles in response.
"No." Sherlock says bluntly to grace.
"Fine." grace says starting to tap away at her phone.
"Wait... this is a subject to be considered..." Matt proposes to everyone but mainly directed towards Sherlock. Matt knows how over protected my mom, and knows that if she were to find out about this she would surely pull me out of school. "They could be of some use to us." Sherlock stays quite considering the proposal. then Sam speaks up knowing dean and grace won't stop till there're in.
"Fine. but you have I tell us everything you know."
"Sure" they say synchronized. sometimes it's terrifying how alike the two of them are.
Matt checks the time on his watch then stands up clasping his hands together. "alright, well school hasn't been canceled. so afterwards we can all meet in my dorm." I nod. then we all stand up.
"yea." Sam says and we all head on our way to first period.
