You were standing in front of the Avengers headquarters; it wasn't the first time you were there, but tonight something felt different. You had been summoned there by Steve, while for others he was a symbol, for you he was the love of your life.

You had noticed that Steve had not been the same for weeks. There was something dark about him—a coldness in his blue eyes that wasn't there before. Although you tried not to think about it too much, you knew something was wrong. And now, you had the feeling that Steve was hiding something from you.

When you arrived at the building, Steve was already waiting for you. He was standing there, dressed in his uniform, but something about him made you uncomfortable. Maybe it was how he looked at you or how his body seemed to tense up more than usual.

"Thank you for coming," he said.

"Steve... " You started to say, but he interrupted you with a wave.

"There's something you need to know," he said. Something I've been hiding. And I think it's time you saw it for yourself.

Steve turned and started walking down one of the building's dark corridors.

"Follow me," he commanded, without even looking at you.

You followed him silently; the building seemed abandoned, and you couldn't help but notice that the echo of your footsteps echoed louder than usual. Where were the other Avengers? Why was it so quiet?

Finally, you came to a room you had never seen before. It was large, with metal walls and a sterile air that reminded you of a military facility. In the center of the room, there was a sort of dark throne, and on the walls hung banners you didn't recognize, with a strange symbol: a red skull surrounded by tentacles. You stopped dead in your tracks when you saw it.

"What is this, Steve? "you asked, your voice barely a whisper. A sense of panic began to form in your chest.

Steve turned slowly toward you, but his face was no longer the same. There was something about his expression that chilled your blood. He was no longer the man you knew. There was a shadow in his eyes, a coldness you had never seen before.

"This is the real me," he said with a crooked smile. The real Captain America.

You didn't understand what he meant; you tried to step back, but your feet seemed glued to the ground. It was then that you heard a voice from the shadows, a voice that chilled you to the bone.

""This was his true form."

You turned quickly, looking for the owner of the voice. In the gloom, you saw a tall, slender figure, dressed in a black uniform. A mask hid his face, but his eyes glowed a deep red.

"Who are you? "you asked.

The man did not answer immediately. Instead, he turned his gaze to Steve, who was still smiling in that way that was completely foreign to you.

"She doesn't understand yet," said the figure, turning to Steve.

"No, but she will," Steve replied. All this time, I've been hiding who I really am. I am the true leader of HYDRA.

Steve? Leader of HYDRA?

"No, "you managed to say. This can't be true. You're Captain America. You're a hero!

"Captain America was a lie," he said, stepping toward you and laughing. HYDRA has always been behind everything. And me... I've always been their biggest and best agent.

You tried to back away, but Steve was already too close. His presence overwhelmed you, and for the first time since you'd known him, you felt truly afraid of him.

"Why? " You asked, your eyes filled with tears. Why would you do this?

"Because freedom is an illusion. Control is the true nature of power. And HYDRA is the future.
