The warrior of the day today is...
Deadfoot!
Oh yes, the old deputy of WindClan who always made the warrior cat fans prick their ears at the sight of his very uncommon name.
Why was he important though?
Well, he was the father of Crowfeather- mate of Ashfoot- and the grandfather of Lionblaze, Hollyleaf, and Jayfeather.
Hopkit was born with his twisted paw. He becomes an apprentice one moon after Talltail comes back to the clans after his revenge quest.
Talltail starts to teach him how to crouch, as Hopkit was worried that he would be behind because of his paw. He jumps and slices his paw on a piece of flint.
He is rushed to the medicine den, where he rests. But shortly after, the infection from his sliced paw has spread to the rest of his body. Barkface and Talltail go to RiverClan to retrieve sweet-sedge, and it helps and the swelling went down.
Talltail volunteers to mentor Hopkit, and, although Heatherstar was doubtful at first, Talltail says that Hopkit would be just fine.
At the back tom's apprentice ceremony, he is named Deadpaw. His mother gasps at the name, but Deadpaw reassures her.
"It's okay; I don't mind! I'm going to be a warrior. My paw may be dead, but the rest of me is still alive!" -Deadpaw
(Aww!)
Much later, when Tallstar names his former apprentice his deputy and they are drove out of their home, Deadfoot is at first suspicious of the ThunderClan cats, but once he realized that he could trust them, he proved to be a valuable cat while bringing his Clan home.
He makes several appearances after that, bravely supporting his leader and his Clan, even in the hardest of times.
He dies in the fight with BloodClan, and is seen lying beside Runningbrook, staring blankly.
