fan mail
A gift to my readers! Thank you all for the 400+ follows! You haven't gone unnoticed! And welcome new readers!
A time before Love Yourself: Her was announced...
A stack of multicolored envelopes were slapped down onto the coffee table in front of the person they were address to. Park Jimin looked up to Kim Seokjin with lazy eyes. Jin just chuckled at his tired gaze as he walked away. Despite his tired state, Jin knew Jimin would still read the letters sent from his fans.
Jimin always read his fan mail but he doesn't let A.R.M.Y. know for his sake of being piled on countless amount mail that would be sent to him. He reads the ones that are already sent to him and keep them in a box in case he needs some encouragement later on. He even keeps the ridiculous confession ones because it still puts a smile on his face at the thought of making his fans happy.
But as of lately, he found himself in no mood to do so. His stack of unread mail has been getting bigger by the day. Yes, he was busy but it was no different from before when he did read the sent mail. He couldn't find himself to read anymore and go back to the once that has been open.
He has read what people has said on the media. He has heard the crowds when he on the stage. He even knew about what people were saying in other languages. He didn't need the knowledge of his leader to know some key words that lead to hate comments. His heart lurched just a bit but it didn't phase him.
Ever since the release of The Most Beautiful Moments In Life, it seemed like BTS was getting more recognition. It grew even more when Wings was released. The new attention became a gain but it also became a disadvantage. New fans emerged as well as the antis.
He stood up with the gathered mail in his hands to walk over to the unopened stack in a box. He couldn't throw them away with the chance of the others finding them and thinking wrong of him or be concerned when they find out why. Each one in a variety of colors and some even had some decorations such as stickers and hearts. He almost had the urge to open them there, but what happened two weeks ago reminded not to.
He gets his mail a few times a week and every time he gets them and gets the chance, he would read them. Those two weeks ago were no different. The envelopes he received were no different than the ones in his hands now.
But when he looked inside, they were different.
Leave the team. You're a nuisance!
You're too clingy and the members don't like that!
You're not even cute. You don't fit in with the others.
They were getting smarter with sending disguised letters. Since then, Jimin was just as traumatized and couldn't open a letter. To him, they all looked the same now. All of which different colors with misguided stickers and decorations.
The new stack he placed in the box collapsed to the side and fanned out inside. He almost didn't notice the plain white blank one that was buried under all the blue, pink, purple, and green. It was different. It was the only one that wasn't colored. He inwardly wondered if they were getting bored and letting up.
He plucked the envelope out of the pile and looked at the cover with the typed address, unlike the others that were hand written. You can say that he was pulled with curiosity since he brought it over to his seat on the couch. He stared in hesitance for a few minutes before he finally opened it.
Just like the envelope, the paper inside was blank white. When opened the folded paper, he was greeted with neat handwriting and a photo of a girl with a pleasant smile and both of her hands formed in fists in encouragement.
He held the photo of the girl in his left hand while he looked at the letter on the right.
Hello Jimin!
I hope this letter reaches you! I know how busy you can be and I don't blame you! The least I can do is try. If this does reach you, I hope you are doing well.
I'm sorry, it could just be me, but I've noticed some things while watching some concert videos for the past few weeks. To me, it looks like something is bothering you. None of my friends, who are also fans of yours, noticed though so I'm wondering if I'm just imaging it.
But if there is something bothering you, I hope everything will turn out okay. I'll continue to pray for your physical and emotional health and continue cheering you on along with all the other fans. We all adore you and the team! Fighting!
With love from one of many of ARMY,
[Full Name]
His eyes were wide as he read the letter again and grinned widely. He looked at the photo in his left hand and flipped it to see the same neat handwriting spelling out "Fighting!" He placed the photo lent against the group photo of his band on the shelf.
He went up to the other unopened mail and opened the first one he picked up.
Jiminie! You're so handsome!
Jimin! I can't wait to see you live!
You sing so well!
The next day of the concert was so much better. He could feel it. The fandom, ARMY, was so important to him. He only focused on pleasing them and not the other people. [Full Name] held a special place in his heart since she was the one who pulled him out of the dark.
