— The Get Down is honestly one of my many favorite tv shows. It's funny, diverse, has representation for both black and latino communities, has representation for the lgbqt+ community, actually educational, and just an all around fun show to watch for teens and adults. It's a great show about the creation of djs and hip hop in 1977 in the Bronx. I love how they made the main character Ezekiel half Puerto Rican and half African American because the creation of djs and hip hop was started by the Latino and Black community which a whole lot of people don't know about. Not to mention breakdancing was inspired by the Latino's community dancing. If you haven't watched this show please go watch it, you won't regret it. Plus it's always good to learn something new from a show. Anyway back to my aged casting. I choose all great singers (that deserve more recognition honestly). Plus the characters are all casted ethnically correct. Smh @ the casters of TGD. Come guys you can't just cast a light skinned African American actor to play an Afro-Puerto Rican. And y'all can't just cast Cuban actresses to play Puerto Rican characters. Smh please stop doing this @ Hollywood in general because they always do this.
